Welcome to year two of the Bend Young Professionals Summit. We’re so glad you’re here! Today is about taking the time to focus on growing your own personal brand, owning it, then taking it for a spin. It’s also about building your professional clan as you grow your career along with your peers. You are the CEO of You, Inc. and the Bend YP Summit is where you will find the tools, contacts and ways to connect with your community. So get as much as you can out of the day and thanks again for coming. By the way, if your employer paid your way, thank them as well! Enjoy!

EMCEE

ANYSSA BOHANAN Anyssa Bohanan has never liked to sit still, which is how this native Texan ended up in Central Oregon thousands of miles from the nearest Whataburger. She’s currently living out her life-long dream of being a storyteller as a reporter and anchor at Central Oregon Daily in Bend where she’s worked for the past three years. In addition to standing in front of a camera every day, Anyssa is also no stranger to the stage. She’s been a presenter at the 2017 TEDxBend event, an interviewer at the 2019 MUSE Women’s Conference, and has been a part of various musicals and stage productions in the theater community since 2016. When she’s not in front of the camera or on stage, you can find her closest to the food in any social setting, wine tasting, shamelessly jamming out in public or binge watching Netflix shows.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS LEADING CHANGE. You’re here today because you have decided that your growth and development are worth investing in. Central Oregon’s young professionals never fail to inspire me. I am constantly meeting people who always seem to be striving and reaching for that next step. They push themselves while encouraging and challenging their peers. They donate their time, energy, and resources to things they care about. They’re making a big impact. It’s exciting to be a part of something so much bigger than yourself- and that’s how I feel about the Bend YP Community. I have seen so many meaningful connections made, witnessed personal and professional growth, and seen the positive effect that we can have on our community when we come together to give back. Thank you for being here today and for being a part of this community. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
