This pavilion was conceived from the formal properties of a peel from an apple. When someone cuts a sliver of a peel from the body of an apple, the peel will fall down then curve as to try and conform to the shape of the apple thus giving the unique shape of the pavilion. Various studies of material patterns were then studied as well as a base to properly display the pavilion in Lexingtonâ€™s Phoenix Park.

To keep the purity of Michelangeloâ€™s design of procession to the Laurentian Library the foyer is left unaltered and rather a reconstruction of the circulation of the courtyard and procession to the entrance of the library is redesigned. The project works to establish a grid from which a new environment is almost grown such as the garden below. The new objects permeate and dissolve the plane of our understanding of a normal ramp

The design of the pavilion began with a study of DaVinciâ€™s work with mechanisms and meticulous study of the human body. From there the group designed a pavilion that would pay tribute to these studies and mechanisms. My personal attribution to this project was the design and construction of the rotating roof from donated and found materials. The pavilion was built at Lexingtonâ€™s Living Arts and Science Center.

The project began with an exhaustive study of gestures and human movement within space. The

gesture that may be understood by the computer. All in attempt to begin to understand how this study could be used in architecture and human conversation. In the group I wrote the software for the program as well as collaborated with the other two members as to the direction of the project.

Each extended hand must be within 200 perpendicular of the users chest.
Parameters/definition for Kinect
When each of the requirements are met, an image of a referee signaling pass interference appears on the screen.
Each of the users hands must be between their shoulders and hips. Then when the user goes to clap the hands together they must be traveling faster than 50 pixels and each of the hand joints must be within 20 pixels of one another.
Once every requirement is met, the word Clap appears on the screen.

The muqarna is a special Islamic architecture for building domes. Muqarna is the Arabic word for stalactite. By using this unique formal structural unit, I was able to recreate the time old study of transition from square to circle (dome). From this basic principal, I was able to explore more possibilities of offsetting domes on domes and eventually creating a system of domes to create a Hamam or Turkish bathhouse.

Transition: Using the Pinwheel Grid

site is the intersection of the south sloped street and the level street. This gave me a unique opportunity to explore the transition and culmination of two major axes. The unique shape of the buildings derives from the pinwheel grid and the transition of these axes.

The need for housing is a crucial part of life. However, when people are provided with affordable houses, their energy usage matches their mortgage payments. This project is an attempt at using things that are free, the sun, wind, etc. As well as high performance materials to lower energy usage in affordable houses.

the model was made from various woods for the roof and exterior walls and chipboard for interior walls. the model is a section of the east wing of the house. it displays basic wood frame construction as well as batt insulation and rigid insulation use within the wall section.
