Clayton E. Hutchinson General Counsel Clayton is not a typical General Counsel or bank attorney. He’s been responsible for every facet of running mortgage companies from negotiating with billion-dollar hedge funds and managing CFPB audits to picking out office paint colors. After leaving private practice he served as Associate General Counsel at Guaranteed Rate (Chicago, IL), and as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at InterFirst Mortgage Company (Lincolnshire, IL). He graduated with Deans’ List Honors from Illinois Wesleyan University and Chicago – Kent College of Law.

Her experience in the mortgage industry is hyper focused – closing loans. Her reputation as a true partner with loan originators makes her a standout, but it’s her experience in overseeing the closings for upwards of 100,000 loans over the past 15 years that makes her an expert. She believes that the close is the most critical aspect of the loan process because it’s the last thing the borrower remembers about their experience. Simone is a Chicago-native and a graduate of Depaul University. When she isn’t exploring the foodie-scene locally, she is jet-setting around the world.

In her most recent position prior to joining bemortgage, she personally managed between 60-80 loans each month and oversaw an additional 250 monthly loans through the work of her team. Cari is a life-long resident of Lombard and received her undergraduate degree at Illinois State University.

Borrowers apply via our custom online application or directly with our Mortgage Bankers. Our relationships with all major lenders and direct relationship with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac give us tremendous flexibility in providing our borrowers as many loan options as they need.

Borrowers are asked to supply documentation necessary to get an approval. This includes borrower information (i.e. W2s, pay stubs, bank statements) and any 3rd party items such as an appraisal, title, and insurance information.

Once all borrower documentation is gathered, we will begin the underwriting process. Submitting the loan to our in-house underwriters this early in the process helps to eliminate last minute rushes and helps to assure all parties involved in the transaction that the loan meets investor guidelines. This initial underwrite will be performed within 48 hours after we receive all documentation.

CONDITIONAL APPROVAL Within 24 hours of receiving a conditional approval, our processing team will reach out to the borrower to gather any remaining documents required to receive final approval on the loan.

FINAL UNDERWRITING Underwriters will review all conditions within 24 hours of receiving them and give our final approval. We are now ready to close.

CLOSE Once a loan is clear to close, the processing team will work with the borrower to confirm the time and location of the closing. All costs and/or credits associated with the loan will be verified with the Title Company and/or attorney by our closing team. Once all of the loan details are finalized, they will be sent to the Title Company to ensure closings are as smooth as possible for the borrower. 10
