From Your Pastor’s Heart

I want to thank everyone who participated in our Singspiration last Sunday evening. It was a wonderful time of worship as we praised the Lord through song. I appreciate each person who used their voices and instruments to lead us in giving glory to Jesus! Our goal for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions is $6,500 for the church year October 1, 2017– September 30, 2018. As of last Sunday, we have given $1,305.25! As you pray for our North American Missionaries and participate in local missions right here and right now, I want to encourage you to give an offering to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering so that the lost on our continent may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved! The South Carolina Baptist Singing Churchmen will present a concert at our church on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00pm. The concert will last approximately one and a half hours and will include a variety of vocal arrangements as well as instrumental and handbell ensembles. The concert will be free and a love offering will be received for music mission efforts. This will be a great musical event. Make plans to come and invite your friends and neighbors to attend as well. Since December 1, we have made great strides in our debt reduction on the youth building loan. As of March 6, we have lowered the principle on the loan from $132,000 on December 1 to $88,745.76! That’s $43,254 in just three months! I want to thank you for your faithful giving to Forward in Faith over and above your regular budget offering. If we all join in to give to Forward in Faith without neglecting our regular budget offering, we could pay this loan off by December 31. All things are possible with the Lord! My daily Bible reading this past week took me to Psalm 29. It says “the Lord sat as King at the flood; yes, the Lord sits as King forever.” The Lord sits as eternal King over all His creation. He has the authority and power to reign. The question is: “Does He sit as King on the throne of my life?” Think! In the Sonshine! Bro. John
