From Your Pastor’s Heart

The South Carolina Singing Men led us in a wonderful evening of worship through music last Tuesday. Thank you for supporting this special time of worship with your attendance and support of missions through your giving. Let’s continue our walk with Christ as we were challenged by the singers. I want to thank everyone who participated in our Prayer Tent Event last Saturday. We had 10 different individuals/families stop and ask for prayer for a variety of need ranging from health, family, job and even church needs. It was a great start to what I hope will be an ongoing ministry to our community. I appreciate each person who gave their time to come and pray for people in our community who have life needs! The Good News Club children and their families will be joining us for worship and lunch this Sunday. Our Good News Club workers are doing an excellent job at Belvedere Elementary every Tuesday in October March, and I am looking forward to having the children and their families worship with us as we close out another successful year. Join us as we celebrate the telling of the Gospel to the children of our community. Our goal for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions is $6,500 for the church year October 1, 2017– September 30, 2018. As of last Sunday, we have given $2,154.25!(Last week’s total was incorrect.) As you pray for our North American Missionaries and participate in local missions, give an offering to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering so that the lost on our continent may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved! My daily Bible reading this past week took me to Psalm 31:3. David said “For Your Name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.” So often, we make the Christian life about us, but this verse reminds us once again that it is all about our God. He leads and guides us in such a way that His great name may be lifted up in our lives so that all who see Him in us will be drawn to Him. In the Sonshine! Bro. John
