From Your Pastor’s Heart

As you heard last Sunday, we had a wonderful mission week! We enrolled 45 children in our first-ever Day Camp and averaged 38 daily for the week. Eight of those children indicated that they were ready to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and we are following up on those decisions. We also prayed for many needs at our prayer tent, distributed water and herded shopping carts at Kroger, shared with two families at the laundromat and made visits to families whose children were attending Day Camp. It was a wonderful week of reaching out and into our community. I want to thank everyone who helped with any of the ministries. Your tireless efforts were a blessing to the families of our community and to me. I also want to thank those of you who gave your tithes and offerings and your special offerings for our week. Your giving made it possible for us to share the love of Jesus and the gospel message with many lives from all over our area. Our church will be hosting an Association-wide Evangelism Conference on Sunday evening, August 18 through Wednesday evening, August 22. The Sunday evening service will begin at 6:00PM and the Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 7:00PM. We have been praying for the Lord to bring revival to our church, area, and nation. This event could be the catalyst that He uses to start revival. Please be praying for this event and make plans to attend nightly. My daily Bible reading this week took me to Romans 16. Take a few minutes to read this chapter. As Paul closes his letter, he specifically greets various members of the Roman church. In describing them, he uses words and phrases such as: outstanding among the apostles, beloved in the Lord, fellow worker in Christ, my beloved, the approved in Christ, workers in the Lord, the beloved who has worked hard in the Lord, saints, and brethren. Wow! If someone were writing about you and me as Christians, what would they say? Let’s live in such a way that what they will say brings glory to Jesus! In the Sonshine! Bro. John

The Pastor at Northern Heights Baptist Church in Cordele, GA recommended flip flops for the shoe boxes. He said many places he has been to on mission trips the children have no shoes.

Just a Note ! The transition from using an envelope service to using plain envelopes has worked really well. Some of you put your envelope number on your envelope, some of you use printed address labels that you get in the mail, which is a good way to use your extra address labels. Both of which make posting contributions quick and easy. Thank you so much for your cooperation. - Dorothy

It would be great to see growth in our music ministry here at Belvedere FBC. We are waiting on you to come and join us. You do not have to be an expert in music or sound like “The American Idol”. You do not have to audition. All you need is a willingness to worship the Lord wholeheartedly through song and to be available for choir rehearsals. I hope that you will prayerfully consider joining the music ministry. If you would like more information, please feel free to speak with me. If you would like to join, simply show up for choir rehearsal on Sunday’s at 4:00pm. I look forward to seeing you! - Ryan

School Supplies Needed! SOAR workers are requesting that we collect school supplies to be given out on August 15th, at the Back to School Night event. Collection box is located in the hall outside the church office.

Sympathy Our heartfelt prayers are extended to Pam and Olin Boatwright. Each lost a cousin last week.
