Queens Driver Killed in Rocky Point MVA Rocky Point, NY - An Astoria, Queens man was killed on September 24th after his car ran off the road and struck a tree on Rocky Point/Yaphank Road just before 8:00 A.M. The vehicle was headed northbound and had crossed over the northbound lane, striking the tree on the west side of the road. The accident occurred just south of Rocky Point High School. The Rocky Point Fire Dept. and SCPD 7th Pct. responded and the victim was pronounced on the scene. A crime scene was established and the road was closed in both directions from Whiskey Road to Route 25-A.
