Blaze Engulfs House in Shirley Brookhaven, NY - At approximately 9:50 A.M. on September 13th, numerous calls were made to 9-1-1, reporting a house fire on the south-west corner of Merrick Road and Essex Circle in Shirley. considered a total loss. Mutual aid included Center Moriches, Mastic, Hagerman, Mastic Beach, North Bellport and Ridge, as well as a few others. One dog was killed in the incident but another dog fortunately survived. - THOMAS LAMBUI
