You never have a second chance to make a first impression...

Make sure the front yard and entry are clean and tidy. They are the first things buyers see when they inspect your property

Trim bushes and plants as needed and make sure the lawn is kept mowed and leaves raked

Keep the interior of your home clean and odour free. Remove any clutter

Have fresh flowers in your home

Touch up interior and exterior paintwork as needed

Clean windows – it’s amazing what a difference freshly cleaned windows can make

Minimise your personal items. You want buyers to be able to envisage their own belongings in your home

Consider putting excess furniture and belongings into storage. Now is the time to clean out the garage and sell, give or throw away any items that you no longer need

Turn lights on throughout the home, especially on a dull day

When potential buyers are inspecting your home, it is best to be absent or make yourself as inconspicuous as possible. A buyer may feel uncomfortable asking questions if you are close by

Eliminate evidence of pets. Try to keep any noisy, excitable or untrustworthy animals away for buyer inspections. Unfortunately not everybody will love your pets like you do
