We are pleased to say that our first year at our new location in Fort Lauderdale, has been a challenging yet rewarding year as we have been able to bring to this thriving , up and coming neighborhood a refresing new outlet for artists to showcase their work, we have embraced and have join forces with various community activitis, we have promoted and brought awareness to various charitable organizations by making them the beneficiaries of our events. We have adopted a section of our street, have been proactive by maintaining clean.

Our pride and joy is to be able to continue embracing our ever changing community however in order to continue doing so we need your support. We are eager to continue providing a platform that promotes the arts, enhances the quality of life and brings the community together.

rchways is a not-for-profit, privatelygoverned organization. It has provided a wide array of social services in Broward County (Greater Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood) since its incorporation in 1983.

Their mission is to provide quality comprehensive behavioral healthcare to individuals and families who are in need of improving their quality of life. Some of the clinical services they provide include quality comprehensive behavioral healthcare to individuals and families who are in need of improving their quality of life. THey promote

the independence of individuals to the greatest degree possible. One way this is measured is movement of individuals to less restrictive settings.

They also offer several prevention programs that address risk factors that may be present or protective factors that are inadequately developed. Archways is a prevention leader in Broward County and offers programs in collaboration with other agencies, churches, and schools to hundreds of youth and adults each year. They have an ongoing, integrated system of measures to monitor the effectiveness of its programs. www.archways.org

Sometimes weaving the world’s obscene into the silver lining ws for representational pieces to speak the unwritten meaning, a message that only comes in time to those willing to listen with an open mind.

Art: Is it purely visual, aesthetic, beautiful or is it more? Does it grow from inside; does it begin in the roots of the human soul? Is it a drive, a passion or ultimately a lifestyle?

Art is the communication between cultures, generations and genders, a tool of self-expression that cannot be repressed or ignored. It is the product of all thoughts and ideas in a tangible form and at times no form at all.

It is an attempt to crossover into one another’s minds to explain things that cannot be explained, to say things that cannot be said, to write things that cannot be written.

It is a passion from within that cannot be controlled; it has it known intelligence and its own beat. It consumes and attacks all who pass its way and leaves everything yet nothing to the imagination at the same time.It is what is needed to survive, the beginning of every innovation.

Art is an escape from the mundane the ordinary and an open door to an individuals existence. It cannot be understood or truly appreciated through written word.Who I am and what I believe is communicated in my art through all the senses. My paintings and drawings You will never be able to grasp who I am as an artist in a few paragraphs. So put this down, forget it, dismiss it, and go experience my art.

I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and left to attend SCAD in Savannah Georgia where I graduated from with a BFA in Illustration. I've been involved in artistic activities my whole life and dabbled in various forums of visual art. I won some awards along the way, got into graffiti during the teen years until I learned my lesson, then found a possible future for me in SCAD. During my tenure there, I found Illustration to be a great middle ground in our creative market to stick with. I developed my style to be applicable for target markets like advertising, editorial or book publication, and fine art. My strength would have to be my versitility, but I am grinding away to have a more cohesive portfolio. I am lucky I experienced the highest point of the jump of Illustration to digital media in history during College because it equipped me with efficient knowledge and experience in Adobe programs with top of the line equiptment like Wacom Cintiqs. I currently own a Ynova desktop tablet I use for digital work. Now Im home in Florida seeking work as I add to my portfolio. please dont hesitate to contact me!

On a strong conclusion, I am always confident that I can get the job done from conquering great feats before. One Returning Client as of late was Get Air Trampoline Parks at Gainesville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia. I spray painted numerous murals all around their trampoline park. I created a theme and developed the whole concept of the parks murals. Even though these were my first large scale projects , I quickly honed my craft by using forklifts and techniques for executing the large scale illustrations by hand with spray paint as the only medium.

Iam enamored with odd bits: of hardware, metal, vintage jewelry, unusual charms, of words, too. I hoard scraps and larger pieces.

Right now, I have a shelf full of electrical boxes, rusty car jacks, and old-fashioned lamp globes. I ramble back streets on Tuesday nights – the night before large collection trash day – to look for interesting junk placed on the curb. Most of my collection is hardly remarkable to onlookers, but individual crumbs wander through my thoughts until they find their place in something I am constructing.

Because of my health, I now often find verbal language difficult and struggle to find the words I need, but there is no need for verbal communication in my partnership with this visual medium: my hands remember how to hold the blue blowtorch flame to the bright red copper and how to strip the finish from old wood. I am often not fully satisfied with a finished piece, but the act of making thrills me, and I am more than happy to try once and once and once again.

Jennifer Suarez

My name is Jennifer and I make this stuff.

I was born and raised in Miami by Colombian parents. I first learned to crochet at 14 years old by my grandmother. I majored in illustration at School of Visual Arts and later in studio art at Florida International University where I focused on fiber art and installation. I also have a degree in graphic design from FIU. I realized after killing 5 succulents at my low lit apartment that I could make plants that wouldn't die. Now I sell my crochet plants and gifts at various pop ups & markets around town.

Chill out tho is something I've grown used to saying to myself, and my main method of chilling is making things.

I paint because it’s what I was born to do. For me, painting is an outward expression of my thoughts and feelings. When I create it is a layered process that most likely contains many pieces of my story, or observations and revelations I have. I don’t always know what my canvas is going to “say”. I may have a theme I’m following, but because of the process I use, I don’t necessarily know how the “story” will end. I may not even know all of the story until after the painting is done. I am inspired by words and quotes. The imagery that forms from them usually become part of the “story”. More often than not, you will find some element collaged in the design. My current work is an eclectic mix of mixed media pieces. My larger “storytelling” canvases and smaller works inspired by the larger ones. I’m always trying out new ideas, and using different elements to create.

Maria Alejandra Vargas

Art for me is a way of expression based on everyday experience and common memory, always with an emotionally, intimate and inner component.

Painting, photography and drawing are resources I use during the process, where the only focus is not just the nal object.

These means or techniques become the tools to give meaning, not forget the experience and give an approximation to it.

Then the memory releases, reconstructs and recreates a feeling, an event, perhaps losing details or emphasizing them in the last memory, adding or taking out elements to reconstruct the meaning, all of this with a content of humor and re ection on the experience, where daily life becomes a part of the personal psychological puzzle that is open to generate di erent connections to whomever confronts the work as a spectator and is identi ed or recreates other stories.

In the beginning of my artistic experience I worked on an experimental basis with di erent materials as tools to accomplish a formal and thematic unity, used painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, and recovered materials in this process.

I am currently working in photography, painting, drawing, on some occasions manipulating the images with digital tools and then capturing them in traditional way with oil painting or acrylic on canvas.

To me the experience of creating the entire symbolic and meaning process is as important as digital manipulation and the ancient craft of painting.

The theme in my work has always had a constant: Re ections on the birth and the death; the feminine and the masculine; the new and the old; destruction and construction; the game and the cyclical; space, time and waiting, worlds and parallel times, what was said and the unspoken, the physical and what not you can’t see, the pain and humor (pain seen from a non-dramatic point of view) because my interest is not to create a distressed language if not rather fun, demonstrating the ephemeral, like lifeitself...

DALE STINE

GRAMATGES JORDAN

GRAMSTINE Art is a collaboration between artists Gramatges Jordan and Dale Stine. In 2011, the pair developed a working relation-ship shooting photography spreads for a South Florida publication. The following year, they teamed up for their first artistic endeavor: Faces of Young Pride: Pridelines for Peace, a portrait series that benefitted Pridelines, a local nonprofit organization.After the success of the portrait series, they decided to embark on a more ambitious photo collage project, MIAMI/2801.In 2013, they canvassed Wynwood, Miami Beach and Miami Marine Stadium with cameras and lighting equipment to take a snapshot of Miami beyond the bright lights of luxury hotels and high rises seen by most who visit the city.

For this photo collage series, the artists combined two photos digitally superimposed upon one another, then meticulously adjust-ed in opacity, color, tone and texture to create a new image that incorporated elements of both original photos.Rich in historical and artistic significance, these images juxtapose exterior architectur-al shots with natural landscapes to deconstruct the image of Miami that was present-ed to the world by tourists and businesses through the media one year after the end of the 13th Bak’tun of the Mayan calendar.

CRISTOBAL HERRERA

Cristobal Herrera Ulashkevich is a World Press Photo awardwinning Cuban photographer and photojournalist specializing in news, wedding and portrait photography. Cristobal also creates bodies of art, which he displays at shows and art galleries.

Cuban native, Cristobal, has been photographing people, places, and everything else in between for more than 20 years. An artist above all else, Cristobal loves what he does and is ever thankful to be able to do it for a living. Cristobal loves creating outstanding work for clients seeking something elegant, artistic, emotional and special. Cristobal's photography combines technical proficiency, patience, intuition, and his unique artistic sensibilities. Whether it's a child's inquisitive expression, a newborn infant's first gasp of air, or an outraged protester stalking the streets of Nicaragua, Cristobal goes about his chosen passion and profession with an eye for the moment and a heart for beauty. Cristobal's natural empathy for people helps him capture his subjects in a candid and organic manner. Cristobal works hard to make his clients feel comfortable enough to let their guards down and be themselves in front of his camera because that is when the best photographs are taken.

Cristobal founded a camera at age seventeen and since then has had 'a burdening passion to use it to free himself and his artistic subjects from the constraints of time and space. Cristobal graduated from the Institute of Industrial Design of Havana, Cuba.

DEATHSTROKE

My name is DEATHSTROKE and I am a Miami based mixed media artist. I am basically self-taught; it has been a gift to be blessed with the love and deep sense of creativity for art. To me I do not approach art as a hobby nor a means of living. It is literally something I do. Just like breathing, I just do. Just like blinking, I just do. It at times can be a burden, to have this sense of responsibility for my creativity. But that is what allows my art to be authentic and realistic. No filter. It is literally me throwing up my thoughts and time on to a canvas. My frustrations and love have room in the process as well.

Since the early 70’s SusieQ has been documenting her life experience and observations through art, activism and entrepreneurship. She is an award winning artist and the publisher of Natural Awakenings magazine in Broward County, Florida. For seven years, SusieQ produced the Expo of Heart, promoting the integrative wellness industry, attracting over 2,000 people annually. Her current artwork focuses on environmental health and she has connected with organizations such as Warner Independent Films, Lovewell, Water Matters, Citrix Corporation, Museum of Science and Discovery and many others. She has exhibited her art in Los Angeles, Seattle, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and is a Member of the local organizations ArtServe and Broward Art Guild. SusieQ resides by the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and has a daily ritual of walking the beach and cleaning it up. From that she upcycles selected pieces for use in her art work.

DIANE PORTWOOD

Diane Portwood is a twenty-year-old self taught mixed media artist and environmental engineering student known for depicting life in the 'information age' in her compelling urban contemporary style.

Her paintings consist of watercolor and acrylic between layers of resin to give her two-dimensional work a feeling of greater depth.

Using bold colors and engaging graffiti backgrounds, Diane is able to depict the shortcomings of modern social constructs while also showing hope for the future. Diane draws from her experiences in male dominated fields like her engineering background and experience as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor to embrace the strength within femininity in her works.

ART BASEL 2016 MIAMI BEACH Since 1970, Art Basel’s goal has been to connect the world's premier galleries and their patrons, as well serving as a meeting point for the international artworld.

Now, over forty years later, its three fairs - in Basel, Hong Kong and Miami Beach - rank as the premier shows of their kind, presenting 20th and 21st century art with a strong curatorial perspective.

Their reputation for showing high quality work has attracted leading international galleries and collectors, offering visitors the most important art from around the world.

was honored to have been invited to participate during this year exposition.

The exhibit was tastefull curated and included 269 leading international galleries drawn from 29 countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Exhibitors presented works of art from historically significant projects and film, to paInting, photography and large scale sculpture by modern and contemporary artists.

This year marks the fifteenh edition of the Miami Beach show, which has expanded over the years to include dedicated sections for film, outdoor sculptures, works in edition and curated shows of historical significance.

The city of Miami Beach and all over town for that matter was electrifyied during the entire events thus bringing evryone together in the name of ART. We look forward to next years's Art Basel.
