The week of Feb. 13-19, Belle Plaine police responded to the following selected calls: Monday, Feb. 13 A person on the 100 block of Aspen Lane North called for medical help at 5:18 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital. A person on the 600 block of East Forest Street called for medical help at 8:48 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital. A person on the 900 block of West State Street called for medical help at 5:50 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital. Tuesday, Feb. 14 A person on the 900 block of Prairie Oak Drive called for medical help at 8:09 a.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital. A person on the 300 block of West State Street called for medical help at 12:58 p.m. A woman was checked-out by paramedics. A person on the 200 block of East Commerce Drive called for medical help at 2:47 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital. A person on the 800 block of West Main Street reported at 5:32 p.m. a theft. Police are uncertain when the theft occurred. They are investigating. Wednesday, Feb. 15 A person on the 500 block of East Church Street called for medical help at 2:13 p.m. A woman was transported to an area hospital. Thursday, Feb. 16 A woman came to the police station at 12:31 p.m. to report receiving harassing messages. She was advised on the process for receiving a court-issued restraining order. A man on the 900 block of South Meridian Street was cited at 8:24 for a barking dog. The citation was issued because of ongoing issues with the woofing canine. Friday, Feb. 17 A person on the 100 block of South Cedar Street reported at 8:26 a.m.

the theft of a bicycle. Police are investigating. A public works staff person called police at 1:36 p.m. to the 200 block of South Eagle Street. Drug paraphernalia was found in a park. It was destroyed. A person on the 300 block of South Walnut Street called for medical help at 3:25 p.m. The subject of the call was deceased. Saturday, Feb. 18 A person on the 500 block of Oak Village Court called for medical help at 4:17 a.m. A man was transported to an area hospital. A person parked near the intersection of West Commerce Drive and South Meridian Street was cited for driving with a suspended license at 9:15 a.m. The caretaker at the motel on the 300 block of South Walnut Street asked police at 12:46 p.m. to issue a person a no-trespassing warning. A Belle Plaine man on the 1100 block of Farmers Lane called police at 8:52 p.m. when an inebriated 20year-old inadvertently walked into his house. He was cited for underage consumption and released to his family.

Fire Calls

The week of Feb. 13-19, Belle Plaine firefighters responded to the following selected calls: Thursday, Feb. 16 Firefighters responded at 9:30 p.m. to a call for medical help from a person on Noel Avenue. A man was transported to an area hospital. Saturday, Feb. 18 Firefighters responded at 4:30 p.m. to a report of a fire on the 10600 block of West 230th Street. The fire was an illegal burn. Sunday, Feb. 19 Firefighters were dispatched at 10:30 a.m. to a report of a person who possibly fell through the ice on the river. After investigating, firefighters deemed the report a false alarm.
