Welcome to our family’s annual Gelbvieh Advantage Bull Sale. We would like to thank all our supporters, family, and friends for making it possible for us to continue doing what we do and building our brand. Small family farms are becoming more and more rare around the country, and we feel blessed to be able to continue doing what we love. This past year has presented all sorts of challenges, from drought in our area to challenges worldwide that really tested our faith. We are proud of the people we call fellow farmers and ranchers; the people that continue to feed the world and prove that agriculture is possibly one of, if not the most resilient, essential industries in the world, and it inspires us to push through. Now more than ever, consumers are looking back to the farmer for “farm to plate” products and this can be an exciting opportunity. People are going back to the foundation and realizing where their food comes from. This opens up a whole new world of education and marketing that has been lost in the past number of years and we see this as a positive opportunity for the cattle industry. This year we are once again excited to be able to work together with Brittain Farms to offer a complete package set of bulls. We have put together a group of bulls that check all the boxes: yearlings, coming 2-year olds, red, black, purebred, Balancer and Simm x Gelbvieh crosses. There are bulls that are more suited for heifer use and others that provide the performance that industry demands. Gelbvieh is the continental breed of choice for a reason, they are able to provide the Gelbvieh Advantage of more pounds of calf weaned, added fertility, greater cow herd longevity and heavier carcass weights. Our coming 2 year old bulls are grown out slowly right from weaning to provide that added longevity. The bulls are grown out until 13-14months of age where they are then turned out to grass on our summer bull pasture, like any other walking herdsire. This gives them the chance to properly grow and mature while walking the miles to keep them in good health and condition. The bulls are brought back in from grazing around October and we start them on a slow growing ration formulated for breeding stock. They are also given Cattleactive breeder tubs, a product that takes care of gut health and minerals. All of our bulls are vaccinated with fusoguard for footrot and liver health, as well as a full herdhealth protocol of Express FP-HS, Covexin Plus, Cylence and Safeguard. They come with a full 100K DNA panel complete, homopolled tested and yearling ultrasound data. We have done all the work for you so that there is nothing left for you to do come breeding season besides open the gate and turn them out to breed!

Heatwave 2H is a bull that comes from outcross lines here at BNH. His first calving dam was purchased from Beastrom Ranch in South Dakota. She did an incredible job on this guy and we are very pleased with how he is maturing. He is moderate, thick, clean fronted, smooth made and sound footed. His sire, JRI Secretariat 285E78, has really outdone himself with this years calf crop. The ‘H’ year was the first set of calves that we got off of this bull and Heatwave is proof of why we are so thrilled with his production and performance. He is out of the impressive JRI Hallelujah 246E50, a bull that we have used as a multi-purpose bull, providing calving ease, growth, length of spine and an incredible hip and muscle design that is hard to rival. A bull that moves like a cat and is possibly one of the softest middled Gelbvieh bulls around. Hoc combines this with an impressive maternal backing as well. His first calving dam, BNH Forever Dreamin 25F, is sired by calving ease expert FLAD Fladeland Viper 18C and out of our Berry cow family, the largest, most impactful cow family at BNH. Hard Rock Halo 3H is a typical Halo, and I say that in all the right ways. He is long spined, thick made and packs that extra little bit of performance that will add dollars to any pen of calves. He has an adj 205-day weight of 905lbs and doing over 4.45lbs/day off of the cow. The Halo cows know how to grow them! Hard Rock is homo polled, hetero black and purebred.
