Giving our Lives In Mission For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the Gospel’s will save it. (Mark 8:35)
August 2-5, the Men’s Kairos will be making their semi-annual trip to the Pine Bluff Men’s Unit to minister to the inmates. The gospel will be presented through a number of short talks and round-table discussions. Please pray for the men serving and for the inmates attending. There is also a need for more than 1,000 dozen cookies that will be passed out to each of the inmates and the entire institution as a token of God’s love. Purchased cookies can be brought to the office during office hours or dropped off in the bin labeled “Kairos Cookies” at the Missions Desk. We cannot take cookies that are homemade, fruit filled or covered in powedered sugar. For more information about volunteering, contact John Rogers (772.6190; email@example.com).

Immerse Encounter Night
St. Andrew’s is partnering with Immerse Arkansas to launch the Immerse Encounter Night. This recurring Friday night event, beginning August 17, is designed for former foster and homeless youth to encounter God’s love through worship, prayer and small groups. One key way St. Andrew’s plans to help is to provide drivers and transportation for youth that would like to attend. Drivers are needed on Friday nights from approximately 5-9 p.m. and would be using St. Andrew’s vans. There are many other ways to support this night through helping with worship, dinner, childcare, coordinating and more. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please contact Kathy Stephenson (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details.

Sunday, August 5, is St. Andrew’s Move-Up Sunday, the Sunday that our children graduate to their next class. Those in Pre-K4 during the 2017-18 school year will begin worshiping with their parents in the service and following the cross out for KREW Cuts. Additionally, those children currently in KREW Cuts will move up to their new fall Sunday school class.
Know someone in your community who could use a meal? St. Andrew’s women are rising to help through Caring Cooks, a ministry that shows Christ’s love and comfort to families in need by providing homemade meals. Caring Cooks will prepare meals in St. Andrew’s kitchen from 9-11 a.m. on the first Monday of every month. Email Sarah (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information!
