Beebe Healthcare has received a transformational gift of $10 million from the Rollins Family and the Ma-Ran Foundation. The Rollins’ historic gift will be used to make significant renovations on the Lewes Campus to better serve patients, visitors, and caregivers. These include renovating the interiors, expanding the West Lobby, creating additional parking, beautifying the corner of 4th and Savannah Road, and refurbishing patient rooms. In consideration of the Rollins’ incredible generosity, the Board of Directors of Beebe Healthcare has voted to rename Beebe Healthcare’s Lewes Campus, which will now be known as the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus.

“I completely support the decision that Beebe is making with regard to the revised expansion plans and believe it is the right thing to do for the community. celebrating excellent care Every day at our locations throughout Sussex County, patients tell us about their amazing experiences with Beebe doctors, nurses, and team members. Many patients celebrate the compassion and excellent care they’ve received by sharing their story and honoring a Beebe team member or department with a gift. We are grateful to these grateful patients and to all our awesome

Beebe care providers! One of the most enjoyable ways to raise money for our not-for-profit healthcare system is through donations from those who have received excellent care here at Beebe. Sometimes, they are giving to recognize care they received; other times, they give in honor or memory of a loved one.

WHEN JOAN CAGGIANO, aka “Mama

Nicola,” “Mama Joan,” and “The Queen of First Street,” passed away in 2017, her husband, Nick Caggiano, Sr., and son, Nick Jr., wanted to recognize the excellent care Joan received at Beebe, as well as the care the family has experienced over the years. Beebe’s care of the Caggiano family continued this past fall when Nick Sr. decided to address

some problems he was having with his hips and knees. “I knew Beebe’s care was exceptional from our family’s experience last year. The care I have just received by the orthopaedic team was absolutely superior, and I’m serious about that. My family and I would like to make a gift Nick Caggiano, Sr., spoke highly of the care his late wife, Joan (Mama Nicola), received at Beebe Healthcare. Needing orthopaedic surgery, Nick came back to Beebe and Dr. Wilson Choy of Premier Bone and Joint, even after searching other areas for the best surgeon. “After all of my searching, I decided that the best care was right here, at home. I finally decided to have my knee and hip replaced by the excellent orthopaedic team at Beebe Healthcare.”

in appreciation for everything everyone did for Joan and also for the incredible care they have just given to me.” The Caggiano family made a generous gift to name a Specialty Surgical Hospital in Rehoboth.

Recently retired vascular surgeon Dr. Mayer Katz leaves a legacy of excellent care that will continue to inspire Beebe’s vascular team, which includes Fellowship Trained vascular surgeons Dr. Sean Ryan and Dr. Wilson Choy with grateful patient, Nick Caggiano, Sr.
