1 Year: Site Carpentry Level 1 Diploma with Functional Skills.

1 year: Site Carpentry Level 2 Diploma with English and maths or equivalent

2 Years: 3 GCSEs grades 9–1 or A* – G including English and maths and a keen interest in carpentry.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered. WHAT WILL I STUDY? You will learn a broad range of carpentry skills and techniques that make you attractive to employers in the construction industry. You will learn about costs and materials management, specialising in on-site procedures. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I GAIN? • Site Carpentry City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma • Health, Safety and Environment (CSCS) Test AND • English and maths qualifications if required ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS? • • • •

Personal protective equipment (PPE) approx. £30 Textbooks approx. £20 Basic tool kit approx. £50 You will also be required to pay approx. £40 to take a CSCS test. This will allow you to complete the mandatory 30 hours work experience required as part of this study programme

You will develop complex site carpentry knowledge and skills, in addition to preparing you for first line supervisory roles within the construction industry. This qualification will cover: the principles of organising; planning and pricing construction work; health safety and welfare in construction, first fix flooring and roofing; second fixing operations, first fix roofing and stairs; second fixing double doors and mouldings and the set up and use of transportable machinery.
