ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1 year: Painting & Decorating Level 1 Diploma with Functional Skills. 2 years: 3 GCSEs grades 9–1 or A* – G including English and maths, and a keen interest in painting and decorating. Other relevant levels of qualification or experience will be considered. WHAT WILL I STUDY? You will learn the core skills and knowledge about surface preparation and a range of surface treatments you will learn about specialist surface finishing and stencilling techniques and how to provide safe working platforms when working. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I GAIN?

1 year: Painting & Decorating Level 2 Diploma with English and maths or equivalent. WHAT WILL I STUDY? You will develop complex painting and decorating knowledge and skills, in addition to preparing you for first line supervisory roles within the construction industry. The qualification will cover: principles of organising; planning and pricing construction work; health safety and welfare in construction; erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms; applying hangings to walls and ceilings; producing specialist finishes for painted decorative work; producing specialist architectural finishes for decorative work; applying water-borne paint systems using airless equipment and applying water-borne paint systems using High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray equipment.
