WHERE TO STAY ITHACA, NEW YORK Ithaca, New York, is a small city in the Finger Lakes region of central New York, at the southern tip of the Cayuga Lake. It is the home of both Cornell University and Ithaca College and is known for its gorges and waterfalls, small shops and restaurants, and eclectic atmosphere. Though Ithaca is not a large city, it is home to more than 25,000 students and thousands more visit on a regular basis for conferences, sporting events and other university functions. Ithaca has many places to stay when visitors come, and they range from rustic cabins to larger hotel chains. Though many visitors come for a few days at a time, many of the bed-and-breakfasts and cottages rent to guests for a longer stay. Bed and Breakfasts Ithaca is home to roughly 25 bed and breakfasts located throughout the city. With so many available, visitors have a variety of choices. Each B&B has its own personality, so whether visitors are looking for something quiet and cozy or grand and historic, there is a B&B available for them.
