Bed Bug Infestation reports keep popping up all over the country and the world. In the United States, the newest epidemic has only been going on since the early 2000s. Pest control companies are getting more and more calls for possible infestations at hotels, dorm rooms, apartment buildings, residential homes, and even schools! How can you figure out if you have a infestation of these little parasites? If you are having trouble figuring out what you have, you are not alone. I have inspected countless homes where the homeowners didn't know for months what was going on. I can relate to what you may have in your home. I know exactly how you feel. In many cases, the customers I speak with think they have fleas or mosquito bites. They let it go on for months and months until they finally find the bugs crawling on their bed at night or even during the day. If you want to know for sure if you have bedbugs, there are ways you can tell what is going on. First, you need to check your mattress. I don't just mean to pull your sheets back. You may need to take off your mattress and look on the back side to see if you see anything unusual. You might find an unwelcome surprise when you do this! If you still don't see anything, check your box spring. Check your box spring on the top and on the bottom. Yes, you need to flip up your box spring and check under the box spring. By now, if you have some type of infestation, there is a good chance you have found bedbugs. If you still have not found what you are looking for, you should wake up in the middle of the night and check your bed. These little blood suckers are nocturnal creatures that usually appear during the night. If you can wake up at 2 am or 3 am after you have been sleeping for a few hours, you will likely find bedbugs if they are in your mattress. Once you identify what you have, you need to decide how you want to treat them. The biggest mistake you can make at this point is to throw out your mattress and furniture and replace everything with new mattresses and furniture without treating your room for the infestation. Do not replace anything before properly treating your room for bed bugs. Be sure to check out my other articles and sites for more information on how to treat them!
