Term 4 – Week 10 Dear Parents,

Change of Staff development Day 2012

Congratulations to Mr Vincent on his new appointment. Mr Vincent will take up a permanent teaching position at John Palmer Public School from the beginning of next year. On behalf of everyone at Beaumont Hills I would like to thank Mr Vincent for his dedication and commitment to the students at Beaumont Hills. You will be missed Mr Vincent. On behalf of the school community I wish you every success in your new position at your new school.

This year staff at Beaumont Hills participated in a full two day workshop with international educator Lane Clark. This Canadian presenter divides her time between the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. She is highly regarded in her field and therefore demand for her services is at a premium. The initiation of this partnership with Beaumont Hills commenced with a special staff development session after school in early March and was followed by an intensive two day workshop. When a school applies for a change of dates for their Staff Development Days strict criteria is outlined by regional office and must be adhered to. Our working relationship with Lane Clark will continue next year in 2012. Because of her limited availability we will need to change our staff development days for next year. The Regional Director has granted special permission to reschedule our staff development days to accommodate Lane Clark’s availability.

Farewell Farewell to Mrs Gribble who will be taking leaving from the beginning of next year which will lead into her retirement in August. Your dedication and commitment to your students at Beaumont Hills throughout your distinguished career has been significant and highly valued. The school wishes you the very best for your future plans. Goodbye, good luck and thank you, Mrs Gribble.

Usually the first day of Term 2 and Term 3 would be pupil free days. Next year however, the first day of Term 2 and 3 will be NORMAL school days where all students will attend class. The pupil free days for 2012 at Beaumont Hills will be Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd April. Students will NOT attend school on these two days, thereby allowing all staff to fully engage in these important workshops. Both OOSH and the Island After School Care facilities have already been notified and will adjust their services to accommodate families for these two days. Please contact these organisations if you need to use their services. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information.

Our award winners were joined by their family to celebrate this wonderful achievement. The exemplary behaviour, attitude and role modelling to fellow students displayed by our award winners is something that all students should strive to emulate. Congratulations gold award winners. We are proud of you.

Presentation Day On Wednesday our school held its annual Presentation Day at Rouse Hill High School. It was a wonderful event where our school community recognised the academic, cultural and sporting successes and achievements of students throughout the year. Award winners were presented with certificates and medallions for their achievements. I congratulate all award winners on their outstanding efforts throughout 2011. Parent Helpers Morning Tea

Congratulations to the Year 6 committee of parents, along with Mrs Sandhu and the Year 6 teachers who have created a night that will be remembered fondly forever by all who attended. Our senior students displayed through their mature behaviour that they are certainly ready for high school. We wish each and every one of them success as they embark upon the next phase of their educational journey. Goodbye, good luck and farewell Year 6 of 2011.

Our thank you morning tea was held last Friday. This morning tea provides an opportunity for staff to thank all parents for their contribution to school life at Beaumont Hills. There are so many ways in which parents support us they are too many to list. I would just like to say to ALL parents, in whatever capacity you have been able to assist the school throughout the year - THANK YOU. Your dedication and commitment is very much appreciated. Grandparents Concert Our grandparents were treated to performances by our band, string ensemble, choirs, dance group, drumming group, several class group items and individual performers. The variety and quality of the performances were outstanding, again showcasing the talent and commitment of both students and teachers. Following the concert our visitors enjoyed morning tea supplied by our ever hardworking members of the P&C. An unforgettable event. Thank you to all who participated in this concert. Your talent is amazing!

2011 leaders cutting the graduation cake End of year Reports All students received the second semester reports last Thursday. As I was reading each report it became evident that the students at Beaumont Hills strive to produce their best, have respect for their teacher and value learning. I am sure that all parents have congratulated their child/ children on their individual progress made throughout 2011. End of school A reminder to all parents, the last day of school for students is, Friday 16th December. The school year in 2012 for years 1-6 will commence on Monday 30th January, 2012. New kindergarten students should have already received letters outlining their arrangements for Best Start. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of staff at Beaumont Hills to wish all families a safe and happy festive season. To all families who are leaving us to move to other parts of the state or interstate, I wish you well and hope that you will enjoy your new school.

Year 6 Graduation and Farewell On Thursday of this week our Year 6 Graduation ceremony was held. It was a time for everyone to reflect on our students’ time during the seven years they have attended Beaumont Hills. This special day for our senior students culminated in a wonderful evening at Dural Country Club where fine food and some great dancing was experienced by all. The final event of the evening was the traditional last dance for the students shared with their parents.
