To whom is may concern, My Name is Beau McCarthy and I’m applying for a role as a Art Directors Assistant or another role that may be available within the Art Department. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2015, I have been involved in a exciting variety of different projects, each of which has given me a different insight and expanded my skill set.

I worked for a month in preparation for shooting.

Page 25 - Professional Work

Some of this involved: - Drawing a full set of construction drawings (Plans,Sections, Elevations, Window detailing and 3D views) for the set builder to build from - Surveying the whole location and completing a full set of existing drawings - Super imposing furniture and fittings within the location so you can visualise variations of the set before it was dressed - Creating a 1:1 plan floor plan so the director could rehearse the scenes off set - Creating mood boards for the Director -Dressing the set - Designing a surrounding housing development around the location, that was 3D printed and used as a prop within the film I gained a large amount of experience working on ‘Barbarians’ and these skills I learnt could be implemented within future films jobs. I found the disciplines and skills used in architecture and film production were complimentary. I feel I can use my 7 years of experience within architecture and bring it to the film world. I am creative, enthusiastic, have attention to detail and willing to work to tight deadlines. Thank you for your consideration. Best Wishes, Beau McCarthy

The project is a Grade 2 listed Georgian terrace house. I worked with Gaby Higgs only, to design a compact neat studio flat where each floor made up a flat. The space was extremely tight so everything in the flat was designed in a bespoke fashion to make use of all available space. On this project I completed all the drawings myself, under the Supervision of Gaby Higgs.
