BEAR LAKES COUNTRY CLUB GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE & POLICIES A FOCUS ON TRADITIONAL VALUES AND RESPECT FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME
RESPONSIBLE GOLF CART DRIVING The wear from golf cars greatly affects turf recovery and impacts the play-ability of the course. Please follow these simple golf car principles below: • The 90-degree cart rule in in effect regardless of where the cart carries a handicap flag or otherwise. “Carts must use available paths until they reach a point even with where their ball lies and enter the fairway at a 90-degree angle to that point. Carts must leave the fairway at the 90-degree angle also using the cart paths where provided. • Around the Greens: The Green Stake designates when to exit the fairway and remain on the path. The Red Stake identifies the area where cart driving is prohibited.
MONTHLY STATISTICS 2020
• Keep all four tires on the path around all tees and greens. • Cart Path Only on all Par 3’s at all times. • Please keep golf cars at least 5 yards from all bunkers and lake banks to preserve slopes.
GOLF CART DRIVING: HANDICAP PERMITS Handicap Blue Flags will be issued for use by golfers who have physical disabilities that inhibit their ability to play golf at Bear Lakes, while abiding by the regular golf cart restrictions. Golfers wishing to be issued a Handicap Flag to display on their golf cart must seek permission of the Director of Golf. Having a Handicap Flag displayed on their golf cart will allow the user to enter areas on the golf course otherwise restricted from golf cart traffic. These areas include but are not limited to, approaches to greens and tees and areas beyond the stakes used to determine where the golf carts must regularly exit the fairways.
• Where stakes exist before greens, carts with blue flags may gain closer access to the green but no closer than 30 feet or 10 yards. • Under no circumstances may a cart be driven within 30 feet of a green. • Carts may not be driven within 15 feet of a bunker. • All wet, soft, and muddy areas must be avoided at all times. • Where possible, cart paths should be used especially around tees and greens. • No carts are to enter Hazards at any time. • The 90-degree cart rule in in effect regardless of where the cart carries a handicap flag or otherwise. “Carts must use available paths until they reach a point even with where their ball lies and enter the fairway at a 90-degree angle to that point. Carts must leave the fairway at the 90-degree angle also using the cart paths provided. • On days when the Cart Path Only Rule for wet conditions is in effect, under no circumstances will golf carts be allowed to leave the cart paths. No Handicap Flags will be issued on these days.
