Brief

Solution

Epson required an ad campaign promoting their products, inspiring professionals with the tagline ‘Exceed your Vision’. They supplied specific dimension for both a billboard and press release piece.

My focus was to trigger wonder and curiosity and to invite thought and questions with a selection of surreal photo montages.

Solution

This self initated project explored the language between typography and wine and how the similarties could be expressed.

I resolved the project by producing a menu of typefaces presented and described in a fashion which reflects the language and culture assocated with wine. To accompany this I created 3 typefaces in there wine bottle form and rendered them in 3D software, to demonstrate my idea.

This self initated brief explored the language between typography and wine.

I created an all round package which was not only a wine list but 3d bottle renderings. The renderings give you examples of how the wine bottles could reflect there hertiage and the wine list indeluges in language to give you a taste of the typeface.

Tony Shelmerdone - Window cleaner and builder Tony was born in Manchester but grew up in Llysfaen, so it's unsurprising that North Wales limestone has a special place in his affections. It's easy to spot his van on Marine Drive, as being a window cleaner and builder, he's often he's often got ladders on the roof. Tony has been heavily involved in re-equipping many of the older routes as well as establishing his own.

Solution

A rebrand for the outdoor company Rab, the project demanded a new website and promotional material. The aim was to bring the brand up to date with its competitors.

I used this opportunity to create a brand identity that reflected the spirit of the outdoors and give something back to Rabs customers. I did this by giving a more truthful depiction of outdoor pursuits through showing the everyday people that engage in them and by creating a more engaging website that customers could contribute to.

Leanne Callaghan - Doctor Leanne is one of Rabs longest standing sponsored athletes & her all round ability has enabled her to test the women’s clothing range in the harshest and most varied of mountain conditions. Leanne is also hospital doctor in North Wales “Being a doctor perfectly complements life in the mountains, they both have their rewards and tough challenges and are characterised by judgement calls, teamwork, experience, determination and emotional highs and lows.”

Solution

Communicate the 6 causes of habitat loss, wIth one species reflecting each cause. This was a project that stemmed from a larger investigation into endangered species.

Using recipes as style of communication and envelopes as a format, I designed 6 different envelopes - one for each species. The envelopes could be purchased at Post Offices and used like any other. Recipients would not only receive their intended post but also something that would encourage them to think about endangered species in a new way.

Solution

The RSA brief was to create a resource for schools that would show teachers and students all the powerful things design could do.

I created a resource pack for both level KS3 and KS4 students in secondary schools that would allow them to experience how different design professions worked. Using a range of materials from posters, activities and curriculum material, students would learn about design in a challenging and interactive manner.
