Friday 3rd November 2023 1. Health, Safety and Wellbeing Wellbeing – it is my hope that we can curtail planning, by talking through plans collectively as a team. The aim is to try and do less better. As a team produce the end outcome (the medium term outcome) and discuss the steps – the knowledge, the skill, the key vocabulary required and successively for the half term, plan for these. What misconceptions could the children have? In conducting the mini deep dives, I am hoping that we can reduce teacher workload by addressing repetitive or meaningless tasks. 2. Operational Updates a. Atlantis and Apollo building has been ‘dropped in’. We are on schedule for the work to be completed in January. Thank you to Dan for attending school of a weekend to open and close the school. b. Reception toilets – on schedule for a January completion. To the staff members and pupils who have been disrupted by the noise, change of classrooms – thank you! Thank you to the Reception team – points a and b have disrupted routines– you have all been resilient and incredible during this very challenging period!!! c. Georgette’s bibliotheca – the doors arrived cracked again, we are waiting for replacements. Thank you to Sue W and Lee for trying to get the non-fiction books into the library. If you have some ‘free’ time, could you please offer your assistance, so that we can get the intervention rooms up and running. d. Congratulations to Dan Knight, who has been promoted to Caretaker! The Assistant Caretaker post will be advertised on the school website by Monday. e. Congratulations to Lloyd Rusirevi who has been promoted to Assistant Headteacher – responsible for assessment and Quality of Education for year 5. Safeguarding, Pupil Updates, Pupil Parliament Pupil Parliament - elections Please can class teachers in years 1 to 6 arrange the election of a class representative for the Pupil Parliament. Pupils who have served as class representative before CAN offer themselves for re-election. You and your class are looking for someone who …. •Will be the "pupil voice" for the class •Will speak for others (not themselves) •Is willing to give up some of their time (Parliament will have sessions at lunchtimes) •Can report back to the class what has been spoken about in the meetings •is a good listener and explainer •Understands that they are not in charge of those they represent but are offering to do their best for them. Run the class election in a way that suits you and your class. Please be the returning officer and
