Contribute to your community The Beacon Square community is great because of the people in it. Activities and events are made possible by the hard work and time of the volunteers. Your civic association seeks to bring the neighborhood together and keep them informed on issues of interest. We welcome our neighbors to offer their ideas on how to make a difference in our community and also offer whatever support they can.

BEACON SQUARE COMMUNITY MEETING—Nov. 10-7 pm
The next membership meeting is on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7 pm in the Civic main hall. There is a potluck at 5 pm before the meeting. The nominations committee will present their slate at the membership meeting. Nominations will also be taken from the floor. The election will be held prior to the December membership meeting. The new board members will take office in January 2011. 3 at large board seats as well as President and Treasurer are on the ballot. President—Jon Ware (1 year term) Treasurer—Dominic Milano (2 year term) At large board members—Caroline Johnson, Pat Brevoort, Ken Jacobson (2 year terms) Only members can run for office and vote in the election. If your dues are in arrears please see the treasurer prior to the December meeting to bring them up-to-date. The board wishes to thank Bob Kelly for all his work and dedication to the association. We wish Bob well as he recuperates. New members continue to join. At the Halloween party four (4) new members were added and one was added so far this week. Many thanks to Roxanne and those who helped her with the Halloween Party. The election bake sale went well and the elections group allowed us to have our membership information available inside the polling area. HELPING FAMILIES BSCA MISSION—TO ENHANCE INVOLVEMENT AND SENSE OF COMMUNITY AMONG BEACON SQUARE FAMILIES.
Let us work together to help families in our community for the holiday season. BSCA will host a spaghetti dinner and movie on Sat., Nov. 20th at 5 PM. A donation of $5 per person is requested. All proceeds will go to help families in our community. Donations of funds and canned goods will be accepted as well. Cash donations will only accepted on Nov. 20Th at the spaghetti dinner. Any cash donations will be used to purchase turkeys for families in our area. Drop boxes will also be available as starting Saturday, November 6Th until November 20Th. They will be located at Beacon Square Civic Center. Boxes will be at the front door and rear of the building for your convenience. Volunteers will be needed for the following... cooking and preparations, table set up and clean up, greeters and donation food packaging ....for more information please contact Dominic Milano at 631-487-6974. We also have sign up sheets at pool office....all volunteers please be available one hour prior to event.

1 tablespoon green onion, chopped 2 tablespoons butter 1 (16-ounce) can LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin 1 cup water 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon white pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon Cubes, crushed 2 cups half and half 1 lemon 2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley In a saucepan, saute chopped green onion in butter until tender. Add canned pumpkin, water, brown sugar, salt, white pepper, cinnamon, and crushed chicken bouillon cubes; mix well. Heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in halfand-half and just heat through, but do not boil. Garnish with slices from lemon and chopped parsley. Makes 5 servings.
