As you may have heard, there are significant changes coming to local home support services. Island Health and Beacon Community Services, who currently delivers health authority funded home support services on Southern Vancouver Island the Gulf Islands, have agreed to transition the services to Island Health on Nov 1, 2019. The shift will help integrate home support into a new, larger team-based model of care and support consistent processes and service approaches across the health authority. Beacon’s home support staff will have the opportunity to join Island Health’s team and Beacon and Island Health will work together to provide a smooth transition for clients and staff over the coming months. Other Beacon staff and volunteers will continue with our charity’s many other programs and services, building on Beacon’s mission of helping people and improving lives in our community. If you have questions about the home support transition, please refer to Island Health’s Community Access Line: 250-3882273 or toll free: 1-888-533-2273, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. www.beaconcs.ca
