Expanded Learning Time
With low student-to-adult ratios, small-group instruction and cutting edge data tools, CCSP has built an educational program that allows our faculty to target the specific needs of each CCSP student.
CCSP supports before-school, Afterschool, Saturday & Summer programs. This amazing commitment to expanded learning time represents a recognition: to compete in an information and innovation-based economy, students need more time to learn and an opportunity to approach learning in a less formal and more flexible learning environment. During ELT students receive additional instruction time and participate in other club-based activities like Martial Arts, Violin/Viola/ Cello instruction, Service-Learning, Healthy Cooking, Yoga, Kickboxing, Sewing, Chess, Theater, Dance, and Comic Book Drawing.
Professional Development CCSP provides over 120 hours of rigorous, meaningful professional development to our faculty and staff annually to ensure that our teachers have the skills and knowledge needed to have a powerful impact on their students’ academic success.
“Knowing that I play an important part in bridging our City’s past with its future, fills me with immense pride. My goal is to instill in our students the same passion and promise that Paterson placed in me.” —Manuel Martinez Director of Community Schools, Former 2nd Grade Teacher and life-long Paterson resident.
At CCSP, we have created an aggressive academic program, with an unrelenting focus on literacy, to ensure our students are prepared to compete in a 21st Century, globally-competitive workforce.
CCSP classrooms are equipped with wireless Broadband internet, Smartboards and computers. In addition, our assessment systems are on line. Through these mediums, we are preparing our students for the challenges of the future.
Community Revitalization Founded as a vital element in the revitalization of the Paterson Great Falls Historic Neighborhood by our community partner, New Jersey Community Development Corporation, CCSP provides programs and services to parents, students and community residents in the evenings, on the weekends and throughout the year.
Family Fun With over a dozen large-scale, family-centered events on weekends, CCSP ensures that students, parents and staff share and experience life outside of the classroom.
“CCSP is central to the future of the Great Falls Historic Neighborhood. By providing a world-class education, afterschool, Saturday and Summer programs, evening workshops, large-scale community events and many other activities, CCSP serves as a hub of information and activity, only two blocks from the newly created Great Falls National Park.” —Robert Guarasci Chief Executive Officer New Jersey Community Development Corporation and CCSP Founder
“When I graduate from high school, I want to attend Princeton University and study either Medicine or Education; I know that my experience here at CCSP will shape me in those areas and prepare me for anything else that I decide to do because of the amazing examples that my CCSP teachers have provided me and because of the excellence that CCSP demands of me.” —Talitha Sample CCSP Sixth Grade Student
