With the help of the City of Berwyn and the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC), new and existing businesses are utilizing the available resources to grow and continue operations. BDC saw a massive interest in these programs, awarding 12 businesses more than $86,000. Because of the success of the Finish Line Grant, the BDC expanded the program to include the Harlem TIF District as well. With the Harlem TIF now extended down the length of Cermak Road, the Finish Line Grant covers the majority of our business corridors. The BDC has ramped up funding to over $500,000. If you have a project in mind, make sure you reach out to BDC staff! The BDC also increased its offering of commercial loans to the community, with three new loans issued in 2019. Our commercial lending program has ramped up in 2020 to address the needs of the business community, with two loans issued already this year. The BDC works closely with borrowers to ensure our program is the best fit for their needs and assist the business in utilizing all other available economic development programs.
