The funding will provide equipment, software and staffing to access additional fingerprint records which are not maintained in Federal and State AFIS systems by providing an interface with local databases, including the Dallas Sheriff’s Office. This will provide significant and timely opportunities to solve and prosecute violent criminals and provide relief to victims, assist in the reduction of violent crime and improve the quality of life for citizens.
