Christmas Newsletter

Hello and hope your week has been great. It’s a very great privilege for me to be able to connect with you, lovely mums and dads and customers of Joy and Joe baby wrap carriers. I’ve been wanting to send out a newsletter to you all for a while now but you know how busy it is as a parent (and with my kids Joy and Joseph, its double trouble! Fun actually!!) By the way, I’m Adebisi, mother to Joy and Joseph and owner of your super comfy baby carrier, Joy and Joe baby carriers. Well, first of all I just want to wish you and your lovely family a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in advance. I will also like to seize this opportunity to say a massive thank you to you all for

your unwavering support this year, your feedbacks and emails have been a positive source of encouragement for me. This year 2012 has been a year of growth for us at Joy and Joe baby, remember we started out as a baby wrap brand officially last year 2011 even though we’ve been in the baby product industry for many years now. Can I just share a little of the examples of areas where we’ve experienced growth.

Earlier this year, we sent our products to Bureau Veritas, UK, an accredited government lab and after series of stringent tests and scrutiny, our baby wrap passed in flying colours. For us this was a confirmation of our belief in the fact that baby carriers should be 100% safe and comfy. Also, we secured a complete product and public liability insurance which is often lacking in so many small

businesses considering that I started (and still am) a work at home mum. We also won several awards this year including the mumsclub business awards where I was nominated and short-listed as one of the top100 business mums in UK. We also sent our products to bizzie baby, one of the leading review sites for baby products in UK and we were rated 4.2/5. We scored high in areas of the quality of our baby wraps, all three tester mums said they will be happy to recommend our baby wrap to other mums. We only scored low only in areas of the quality of our printed manual and we’ve acted on and revamped our user guide. We were invited to Manchester royal infirmary in November to demonstrate our baby carriers in celebration of the world prematurity day.

Perhaps, I could remind you that the inspiration for this business came during a time when my children were poorly immediately after they were born, my both children passed through the neonatal intensive care unit and I was intrigued by the impact kangaroo care (skin to skin) had on them. Because of the demands of Joy and Joseph’s care, I wanted a family friendly job that will afford me the chance to care for my children without the strict working schedule of a 9-5 and Joy and Joe baby wrap carriers have been growing in leaps and bounds thanks to your kind patronage. Thanks so much for believing in me and it spurs me on to work harder and harder. Though I’m an experienced baby-wearer, I’ve taken up additional formal training to become a babywearing consultant and I’m at the

final stages of my course work. Will keep you updated. Before I leave, can I just share a testimony from my family, this year has been the first year so far that joy hasn’t been into hospital since she was born. Joy was born with Down’s syndrome and a heart defect which meant that she was poorly lots of times. Well, I hope this inspires other parents out there. I’ve never stopped believing that things will get better. Slowly but surely!! I hope you can see that I’m also a real mum like you with real life challenges; hopefully, we can connect via babywearing, carrying our precious little ones courageously into the future. Happy babywearing and please let me know your thoughts on our new collection viewable on our website and facebook page. I will also love to hear your babywearing stories and testimonials. Wishing you the best this season and see you in the New Year. Thank you. ‘bisi Osundeko
