to pursue later on in life. The lessons in Physical education for high school students, however, are not as important. High School is a critical time for a student’s education, and it is unfair to force every student to take a physical education course, if he/she wishes to take other classes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that: Section 1:

Health class will be a required, yearlong class for students. A high school student will be required to take one year of Health education in order to graduate from a public high school.

Subsection 1: Topics covered must include sexual education, drivers’ education, first aid training, and drug and alcohol prevention. Because of the drivers education component, it would be strongly reccomended that students complete this requirement within the first or second year of high school. Section 2:

Those states that keep Physical Education classes as a requirement for graduation will be in jeapordy of losing federal funding, in accordance with President Obama’s Race to the Top plan.

Subsection 1: Individual public school districts may keep physical education classes as an optional elective. Section 3:

Public high school curricula will be altered with this change prior to the 2012-2013 school year. This change will be in effect starting with the class of 2016.

Section 4:

Most Physical Education teachers will be become full time Health teachers, but some will reamain full time Physical Educaton teachers.

Subsection 1: High School districts will be in charge of deciding which teachers will change to full time Health teachers, and which teachers will be full time physical education teachers. This decision will be based on teaching experience and educational background. Section 5:

The Salary for Health Education and Physical Education Teachers will remain the same as the year prior to this bill’s instatement. 303C: A BILL TO ELIMINATE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES ON FIELD CORN

Sponsored by: Senator Grant Gallagher from Manalapan High School Representative Harold Chen from Manalapan High School Representative Jeffrey Tao from Manalapan High School The current subsidies set into place on field corn by the US government are detrimental to the environment (global warming), the amount of food available, water supplies, free market trade, and the world (especially US) obesity situation. Field corn is not the corn used for food – that is sweet corn. Rather, it is used in animal feed, to make high fructose corn syrup, and to make corn ethanol. Additionally, removal of subsidies on field corn gives the US government more money to fund other projects. By removing subsidies on field corn, we make it possible to reverse its negative effects. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that: Section 1:

Government subsidies on field corn are to be removed entirely.

Subsection 1: Subsidies will remain in effect until July 1st, 2012, in order to give farmers the chance to adjust their crops if they so choose. Corn is planted in the fall and harvested in the spring, so this should not disrupt current harvests. 304C: A BILL TO REDUCE THE INFLUENCE OF PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANIES IN LEGISLATIVE DECISIONS
