LUNCHTIME FAVOURITE RECIPE Method: Mix salt and flour together, then add the cubed butter and work through the finger tips till it resembles bread crumbs. Then add your "foraged" flavourings. Stir in the milk and mix to form a soft but not sticky dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and shape into a ball shape. Set the dough onto a floured baking tray and flatten to a round shape roughly 17cm across. Cut a deep cross in the middle, brush with milk, then bake in the oven at 190c for 30 minutes.
Damper Bread… A simple bread with no yeast that can be made either at home or on the campfire. Locally sourced/foraged ingredients can be put in to flavour the bread such as Hazelnuts, wild garlic, raspberries or blackberries. Ingredients: 250g self-raising flour Half teaspoon salt 25g unsalted butter cubed 175ml milk
