IS YOUR BUSINESS

Education is key. That mentality is so important to hybrid photographers. In the midst of a digital world, how will clients know that you are a hybrid photographer and exactly what that entails? You educate your clients. As a beginner. It Is Important to shoot one or two rolls of film at each session. This helps you train your eye to see the natural light and helps you learn how to properly meter for that light. During the post-production process It Is crucial to begin editing your digital images to match your film scans. They will never be identical, but it is important to get Into 'the same ballpark" as your film scans, so that when the transition into hybrid photography is complete, you will have mastered the post-production process.

Once you feel confident that you are exceeding an 80% return rate (the number of film scans you keep out of the total that you shot). then it is time to post on social media about your transition. Whtle you may still deliver both film and digital images for a while, only posting film scans online trains your clients on the style of images they should expect when booking with you. It is important to blog about your transition. so that clients can better understand WHY you shoot film and HOW their experience is affected. Again, education is key.
