INTRODUCTION & NAVIGATION This portfolio is a collaboration of work that I have done while enrolled at the University of Kansas, along with personal projects that I have taken up in my free time. Many of my projects come with a link to my YouTube channel, Bayerle Architecture. Here you can watch videos that correspond to each project and go through my design process to help you better understand how I came about creating my work. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoyed creating it. Sincerely,
Ryan M. Bayerle

80 PROOF DISTILLERY CROSSROADS | KANSAS CITY, MO
80 Proof Distillery is inspired by the spirit Gin. A concise program was crucial to the layout of this building due to the complexity of the distillation process. This 35,000 sqft. building is designed to house the production of spirits, the storage and aging of spirits, bottling, a retail bar, and event spaces.

CONFLICT BLACK JACK MUSEUM
BLACK JACK BATTLEFIELD | BALDWIN CITY, KS
This museum is located on the site where the Battle of Black Jack occurred on June 2, 1856. This battle was one of many that contributed to the start of the Civil War. To recognize the significance of the battle, I designed a museum that represents the conflict between the Union and Confederate States while respecting the nature of the site and its features.

1708 HOME BAR 1708 HOUSE | LAWRENCE, KS
This is a bar and booth that my roommate and I designed and built in our college house in Lawrence, Kansas. We wanted a place to comfortably entertain our friends while taking advantage of an unused space in our basement. It allowed us to develop construction experience and real life design strategies.

MODERN MID-CENTURY 1950s REDUX HICKORY AVE. | ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL
This is a residential remodel of a suburban ranch that was built in 1958. The idea was to modernize the home in a way that respected the mid-century styles of its era while keeping the home modest in size. Preserving as much of the original structure while adding fresh and sustainable materials was a priority during the design process.

EXISTING HOME
PRECEDENT PRECEDENT
Revitalizing the traditional suburban home is not only a sustainable way to use what we already have, it also maintains the style and intentions of the designers and planners who first created the suburban lifestyle throughout the 50s, 60s, & 70s. The idea of an efficient and modest lifestyle needs to be brought back to suburban culture in order for future generations to reap the benefits of suburban life and to maximize the use of our existing resources.

EVOLUTION MEDITATION SPACE MASSACHUSETTS ST. | LAWRENCE, KS
This meditation space was an exercise of self-inspiration. First, I created a graphic that represented some of my personal memories. Next, I made a 2-D diagram of the graphic, created a 3-D diagram, and then developed a structure that would be used as a nondenominational meditation space.

DREAMBAR LIGHT
KCMO LUMINAIRE DESIGN COMPETITION
This is a lamp that I designed and built based off of the idea of framing a vision with your hands. It is meant to give off very soft light to allow someone to transition into the evening before bedtime. The lamp also has an adjustable light feature to create different lighting effects.
