Bawtry junior players are regularly nominating players for the various Doncaster and District representative cricket teams, and a high number of our players are representing Doncaster in the District cricket festivals and some are training regularly with the South Yorkshire squad. Also, the ground is regularly used to host these matches which usually have many spectators in attendance. There have also been other exciting new developments at the club, in 2012 our 1st XI gained promotion as Champions to Division 3 of the Bassetlaw League and our 2nd XI maintained a healthy position in Division 6, just narrowly missing out on promotion with a very youthful side. The 1st XI equalled the Bassetlaw and District League record when they dismissed Marshalls Sport CC – 2nd for just six runs! We have also achieved Club Mark accreditation from the England and Wales Cricket Board, and with the help of donations and the proceeds of our weekly raffle, we were able to build our new electronic score board which has been a great hit with players and spectators alike. The club is hoping in 2013 to push on, with the 1st XI and 2nd XI challenging for promotion and the juniors continuing to improve on their impressive season last year. Off the field, the club is continuing it’s efforts on improving facilities for players and spectators.
About Bawtry Cricket Club
Since 2000, the club has expanded its junior section from one under 13’s team to currently having over 80 junior players of ages ranging from 5 – 17 years. The junior teams have had a fruitful time over the last few years, winning numerous trophies. In 2012 the U11s and U13s both won cup competitions in the Bassetlaw Leagues.

We have a lot of junior players playing a higher level by representing the club at Doncaster & District level. These players play in their respective age groups and play other districts in the Yorkshire Area, with some going on to represent South Yorkshire. The Club regularly hosts these matches, which brings a high number of spectators. Last season, almost 70% of players that represented the club in the 1st XI and 2nd XI played or are still playing for Bawtry in a junior team. This shows that without the juniors, Senior teams would struggle to put out a team on a Saturday. In the 1st XI promotion winning side of 2012, 80% of the players in the team had played for juniors, with the average age of the team being just over 23 years old. It just shows that the hard work the junior coaches have put into the club in the past is filtering its way through to our senior cricket.
The junior section of Bawtry Cricket Club was set up in 2002 and only had three coaches to run two teams, Under 11s and Under 13s, in the Doncaster & District Junior Leagues. Now it’s a very different picture, due to an increase in the amount of juniors wanting to play for Bawtry Cricket Club, this season we are running 11 different teams, in two different leagues (Doncaster & District Junior Leagues and the Bassetlaw Junior Leagues) utilising the 8 ECB qualified cricket coaches, several ECB qualified coaching assistants and parents.
2012 Stats: 14 Matches, 14 Innings, 356 Runs, 27.38 Average, 119 High Score
Bawtry CC have two senior teams that are each due to play 10 home matches at the Memorial Sports Ground, which provides plenty of opportunities to sponsor the balls used in these matches.

This new digital display will exhibit club information, up and coming fixtures, results, committee information and latest news, on a repeating “slideshow”, with each page being on long enough for people to comfortable read it with ease. The screen allowing this to happen will be fixed to the wall next to the service hatch in the tea room of the pavilion, at eye level so it will be viewable to all those coming into it. The Memorial Sports Ground on average has 3-4 matches a week at the ground in peak season so there will be a lot of players, officials and visiting support being able to view this. You can have just your logo displayed on the screen or you could decide to have an advert. You can change your advertising space up to twice a month, so this can coincide with any promotions that you have on . To take advantage of this unique opportunity to have an advert on the screen at regular intervals throughout the match will cost £25 per season. For more information or to book your slot on the screen, please e-mail email@example.com.
Screen in pavilion displaying adverts
Bawtry Cricket Club has decided to update the current noticeboards in the pavilion down at the ground in to the digital format. This means that instead of having all the information about the club, eg results, club information, sponsorships on noticeboards in the pavilion, this would make it more modern and more attractive to look at.

In order to preserve the life of the sight screens a new layer of metallic paint will be applied to prevent further rusting. The old heavy metal wheels are being replaced with ones that are much easier to manoeuvre, so getting the sight screens out on match days is a much quicker and effortless task. This project is very time consuming, but the club will reap the rewards of this refurbishment on the pitch with two professional looking sight screens. The sight screens are essential for Senior cricket as it allows the batsmen to pick the ball up easier when it leaves the bowler’s hand, giving them that extra few milliseconds to choose which shot to play. Bawtry Cricket Club is offering you the chance to have your name and/or logo on the refurbished sigh screens for only £150 per sight screen per season. Not only will you have your name and/or logo on the sight screens, you will also have your name and/or logo on the cricket club website for the duration of the 2013 season. For more details or to take advantage of this fantastic offer, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.

Sight Screen Sponsorship
This season, Bawtry Cricket Club are planning a much needed overhaul of the sight screens to make them look better and be more practical. For years, they have had only the occasional wooden panel replaced and the odd coat of paint, but this year is going to be different. We are removing all the wood on the sight screens and replacing it with more durable PVC panels. This should last much longer than the wood and be easier to maintain in the future. The metal frame of the sight screen is being rubbed down to remove patches of What the sight screens should rust and previous coats of paint. look like when finished
2012 Stats: 15 Matches, 15 Innings, 643 Runs, 49.46 Average, 86 High Score
In 2010, Bawtry Cricket Club launched an ambitious project to bring the club into the 21st century. The club designed and built a large electronic scoreboard to replace the dated one used by the club from many years previously, which some of the older players and many umpires were struggling to see from the middle of the pitch.
The previous scoreboard only allowed for current innings score, number of wickets down, overs remaining and previous innings. The new scoreboard contains all of these, but in a much larger and clearer format, and also the current batsmen’s totals. It is operated by the scorer in the scorebox situated next to it. On the inside of the protective doors, there are four panels, each equally measuring 4 feet by 3 feet, why not sponsor one of these panels for the season so when everyone looks at scoreboard for the score, they also see your sponsors board as well. To sponsor one of the four panels for the season, it will only cost you £150. For this your board will be seen every time there is a match down at the Memorial Sports Ground, with an average of over 3 games taking place in peak season, With these matches, there is always a high volume of home supports and also away supporters that will have exposure to your board. The price of £150 also includes the costs incurred by Bawtry Cricket Club creating the physical sign for the scoreboard. For more details or to take advantage of this fantastic offer, please e-mail email@example.com.

The new electronic scoreboard was an immediate hit with Bawtry players, supporters and opposition. The scoreboard stands 2 metres high by 2 metres wide with bright orange numbers which can easily be seen from the far end of the pitch.

What we propose is to purchase 3 dome shaped covers, measuring 8 metres by 4 metres each. These covers can be placed over the wicket to protect the wicket from the adverse weather conditions.
On these covers, there is a large blank area which can be used for advertising and promotion. With an estimated 1100 trains going past the ground each week, we feel this is a great chance for you to promote your brand, not only to the millions of passengers that pass our ground on the train, but also to the many users who play cricket at the ground and the spectators that come and watch. The covers will occupy a prominent position in the centre of our ground. For this great opportunity and lifetime sponsorship of the covers, we are asking for ÂŁ5000. This money will help pay for the purchase of the covers and will also fund the provision of a full printed logo printed across the cover surface. Also, as part of this arrangement we can offer you the chance to have your logo and a link to your website on our website and you will be entered onto our sponsors page. Our website, www.bawtry.play-cricket.com, had almost 20,000 hits last year and this number is rising each year. For more information or to sponsor the covers e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.

At Bawtry, we strive to improve our facilities to enable our members to play at the highest level of competition. Last year we had to cancel several matches due to bad weather and a waterlogged wicket. It’s frustrating when this happens, as the players are always eager to go out and play. This year, we feel we can play our part to try to prevent this as much in the future.
