OCA accepts an average of 83 students per grade level. Acceptance to OCA requires participation in a placement interview. A new application must be completed each school year. OCA will not place a student in a grade that is inappropriate for his/her academic level. OCA is a community school established under Chapter 3314 of the Ohio Revised Code. OCA is a public school and its students are required to pass proficiency tests and other examinations prescribed by law. Students who have been excused from the compulsory attendance law for home instruction as defined by the Administrative Code shall no longer be excused for that purpose upon their enrollment at OCA. ABOUT OHIO CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY Ohio Construction Academy (OCA) is a tuition-free, fully accredited construction technology academy. The program provides a blended education opportunity, facilitating both online and on-site instruction. As such, OCA enables a hands-on learning experience in the construction trades taught by highly qualified instructors who provide personal attention to each student. Students attend class two days per week and may also log in 24 hours a day, providing flexibility in the learning process. Alongside the construction trade, OCA will encourage each student to develop the necessary skills, attitudes, and work ethic to be successful in their chosen career path. Additional benefits include:
A CLASS OF TRADE TRADE-- READY CRAFTSMEN Students of OCA earn their high school diploma and earn college credit toward an: Associate Degree in Construction Technology, or ℵ Associate Degree in Construction Management ℵ
As well, students earn up to 2 of 4 levels of apprenticeship instruction. Upon completion, students are prepared for direct entry into registered apprenticeships, college, or a job.
