About us.... Established in 2010, Barrow Training Services Limited are a national training company accredited by AoFAQ an Ofqual recognised Awarding Organisation to deliver nationally recognised first aid qualifications. We are also approved to deliver all mandatory training through Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and Virtual College. We are based in Bedfordshire, with our team of trainers working across the Home Counties. Barrow Training Services aims to appeal to companies who want their training written and taught by professionals. HSE Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course The HSE Emergency First Aid at Work Course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, that all organisations must have adequate first aid provision. This 1 day course is suitable for smaller low risk organisations who feel that the syllabus listed below meets the type of injuries common in your workplace and industry. Our aim at Barrow Training Services is that all learners should enjoy their Emergency First Aid at Work Course and that by the end of their course all learners should be safe, prompt, effective and confident first aiders in the workplace.

HSE First Aid at Work Training Course The HSE First Aid at Work Course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, that all organisations must have adequate first aid provision. The HSE First Aid at Work Course is a 3 day course and is suitable for larger and high risk organisations. The First Aid at Work Course covers the syllabus as laid down by the HSE. Our aim at Barrow Training Services is that all learners should enjoy their First Aid at Work Course and that by the end of their course all learners should be safe, prompt, effective and confident first aiders in the workplace. HSE First Aid at Work Requalification Training Course The HSE First Aid at Work Requalification Course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, that all organisations must have adequate first aid provision. This 2 day course is suitable for people who have already completed the full First Aid at Work Qualification and wish to renew their certificate. Individuals will be required to present a copy of their current First Aid at Work Certificate when they attend the course. Our aim at Barrow Training Services is that all learners should enjoy their First Aid at Work Requalification Course and that by the end of their course all learners should be safe, prompt, effective and confident first aiders in the workplace.

Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling Training Course (HABC) Level 2 Manual Handling Course Overview Manual handling injuries causes more lost working days in the UK, with sprains and strains due to the incorrect lifting and moving of objects causing most suffering to employees. The Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling is intended as an introduction to moving and handling activities for those starting work, returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling, as well as being a suitable qualification for refresher training. Learners gaining this qualification will understand that moving and handling must be carried out correctly and will recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment. The HABC Level 2 Award in Manual Handling is a substantial course covering all areas of manual handling resulting in a nationally recognised level 2 award. Level 1 Award in Health and Safety for the Workplace Training Course (HABC) The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a qualification intended for learners working in any environment and those who are returning to work or starting work for the first time. Learners gaining this qualification will know that Health and Safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, including contractors, visitors and suppliers. The Level 1 Health and Safety Course is a good introduction to health and safety and is suitable as part of an induction regime. The Level 1 in Health and Safety is also suitable as part of a college or alternative education program and is a good way to give young people on these courses a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Safety. Level 2 Award in Health and Safety for the Workplace Training Course (HABC The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is aimed at all employees. It is intended for learners already in workplaces and those who are preparing to start or return to work. It is also very useful for young persons to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience and into employment. Persons gaining this qualification will know that health and safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, its contractors, visitors and suppliers. Its subject areas are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace. Although the Level 2 Health and Safety Course can be tailored to specific industries and job roles there is a baseline syllabus that needs to be followed as highlighted below, although this can be added to and expanded on. Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering (HABC)

Level 2 Award in Food Safety for the Workplace (HABC)

The Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering is a qualification intended for learners working in catering and those who are preparing to work in the industry. Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food. The subjects covered are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to ensure good practice and the production of safe food.

The Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering is a qualification aimed at caterers and other food handlers. The qualification is intended for learners already working in catering and those who are preparing to work in the industry.

The Level 1 in Food Safety is also suitable as part of a college or alternative education program and is a good way to give young people on these courses a nationally recognised qualification in Food Safety. On-line e-learning and training This is an exciting development having been accepted by the Virtual College we can extend the service we provide to businesses by bringing in new e-learning training solutions. For example Level 2 Food Hygiene Training, Health and Safety Training, Healthcare Training including Safeguarding – SOVA / Children. In fact the variety of Virtual College courses is quite stunning. On-line training does offer benefits to your businesses as training can be done in parcels on-line in the workplace without major abstractions, for example doing on-line food safety training is fairly quick and easy. A student could even do their Food Hygiene Training, Safeguarding Children or any other course from the comfort of home should they have internet access.
