Boy Scout Troop 96 of Barrington is looking for energetic boys, age eleven and up or having completed the sixth grade who want to have an exciting and memorable time that will enlighten them for a lifetime! Boys will learn woods skills, camping, cooking, citizenship, self reliance and leadership just to name a few while having fun in the great outdoors. The Barrington Municipal Alliance has been involved in several activities in the past months to promote a healthy, drug-free community. Along with National Night Out, the LEAD Program, and other community events, here are some recent highlights. -Sponsored the main stage for free family entertainment at Harvest Fest. -Organized Red Ribbon Week activities at both Avon & Woodland which included assemblies at both schools by Camfel Productions’, which demonstrated to our students that the choices they make today will directly affect their future. We also funded pizza parties at Woodland for the winning classes who did an amazing job with a door decorating contest- the theme being YOLO-You Only Live Once, Be Drug Free! Here’s a pic of one of the winning doors.

HOLIDAYS, 2016

Barrington Band had a nice concert for the Evergreens retirement home on Nov. 15th.. We played South Pacific, Under the Sea, Man of La Mancha, Zacatecas March, Carousel, The Thunderer March, Highlights from Annie, and our new favorite, the theme songs from the 4 Star Trek TV shows! The audience was appreciative, and they want us to come back next year and play our Big Bands concert again! As always, we end with God Bless America. We are beginning our busy Christmas season, with a concert every Tuesday night until Christmas week! November 22 will be our Home Concert for Barrington, and we hope many of you residents came to hear us, and to enjoy refreshments. In 2017, Barrington Band will see you all at the Political Reorganization Meeting. We like to come to this event. Many residents attend, and the BB gets lots of recognition from officials attending the meeting. We will be in our 103rd year, and will help Barrington celebrate their 100th year!
