How will I be assessed?
This course is for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the digital animation / games / visual effects industries. It is for those who have some education or experience in the media industry who are looking to further their study or develop new skills.
You will be assessed through assignments throughout both years, showing both practical, and theoretical, skills and knowledge.
What qualifications or experience do I need?
Either a Level 3 qualification in a media/arts or computer-based design subject area or demonstrated experience in a relevant industry.

Following on from the course you could go to work in the film/TV, games design and architectural or app design industry. You may choose to further your study by progressing on to ‘top up’ your qualification to a Full BA (Hons) at a university.
This two year course will see you exploring the principles and fundamentals of animation for the digital environment. Covering contemporary and historical animation, 2D animation, 3D modelling, texturing and lighting for Games, Film, VFX and Environmental Design. The second year will give you the opportunity to develop and produce your own project in a specialism of your choosing, be that games character and environment, a short animated feature or something more architectural. You will also develop your academic skills alongside your technical and subject knowledge to give you the option to move on to a higher level of education or progress directly into the workplace.
