Who is this course for? This Foundation Degree has been specifically designed to provide the opportunity to progress from Level 3 Construction qualifications, including Advanced Apprenticeships. It is also an excellent progression route for those who have significant experience of working in the construction industry and wish to progress to construction operations management roles. The qualification is work-based and all candidates must be employed in the sector.
What will I study? This course includes modules on: n Construction management n Science and materials n Site surveying
What qualifications or experience do I need? You will have passed a Level 3 qualification in the construction sector. Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis. Additionally, you must have competence in English language and we usually require grade C (4/5) GCSE or equivalent.
n Computer-aided design
In addition to the Foundation Degree, this course is also recognised as a direct route to associate membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Assessment is an important part of your course. You will be assessed as you progress through the course and towards the end. These combined assessments will result in an appropriate grade that reflects your learning. Assessments will primarily be in the form of work-based projects agreed with your employer.

Leaving destinations Successful completion of the Foundation Degree will enable you to progress to year 3 of a degree programme. This may be in Construction Site Management, Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, or Site Engineering.
