What will I learn? The course enables those already working with children and young people from 0-19 to further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding. Our partner University of Derby has developed this part time / full time course with employers in the sector, so it is current, relevant and up to date and you will develop the key skills and knowledge they are looking for. You can also choose a specialist pathway which is relevant to your chosen area of work: early years, teaching assistant and health and social care.

Course structure Year 1 Level 4 Modules (120 Credits). You will study: n Starting study n Equality and diversity n Integrated services n Work-based reflective practice 1 You will then choose one of these modules:

Year 2 Level 5 Modules (120 Credits). You will study: n Understanding behaviour n Work-based reflective practice 2 n Children’s, young people’s and family rights n Research methods n Practice secondary research

Leaving destinations This qualification leads to Senior Practitioner Status and is a recognised Level 5 qualification for management roles in childcare settings. You may also progress to the third year of our BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies, along with other year 3 programmes. Early Years Pathway
