Westfield Bowls Club

I

n the last newsletter I said that the Bowls green was so wet it would be a while before we could play. Well that has certainly altered - the rinks are like concrete. Thank goodness my predecessors had the foresight to install a water sprinkling system, not cheap to install or fun and maintain though without that I dread to think what the green would play and look like. Luckily we also have two or three members who “care for the Bowls green. On the playing side we are enjoying the weather of late and our results are following their normal path - win some, lose some. Bowls can be one of the most frustrating games to play, you can play brilliantly one day and rubbish the next, or at least I can. You should find another report from the Bowls Club on page 32 regarding our plans and aims to rebuild our now ageing and old pavilion. Chairman: David Thomas 01424 754748
