1st Westfield Scout Group The Group currently comprises around 46 young people with 6 warranted Leaders and a Young Leader. We are always looking for adult help so if you have an interesting job or hobby and would like to tell the youngsters about it please contact Frances on 754548. The Beaver colony is now running at 12 so if your son or daughter would like to try out and is between the ages of 6 and 8 contact Sue on 425492 or Rose on 754080 to add their name to the waiting list. All sections try to go outside during the summer term and the Beavers joined with Old Town Brownies on a visit to Blue Reef Aquarium recently. We were given a guided tour including feeding the shark and watching the Archer fish spit to get their prey into the water to then be eaten, fascinating. The Cubs and Scouts had a very good camp locally at the end of May with good weather for once. 11 Cubs and 10 Scouts also went on a District Camp at Broadstone Warren and enjoyed the varied activities including zip wires, climbing, archery, shooting, go-karts, grass sledges and giant inflatables. The weekend finished with a really good Camp Fire. Our Cub and Scout Leader, Frances Richardson, was recently presented with Chief Scouts Award for Good Service and we congratulate her, much deserved.
