Sponsorship Report Global Battle of the Bands (China) Dragonair 2009
SUMMARY • 15 events were held in the cities of Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Shenzhen between September 4th 2009 and November 7th 2009. • Strategically placed Dragonair banners were hung in prime positions at all 15 events. • Press coverage from South China Morning Post, Global Times, China Daily, and various online websites. Website exposure was far and wide: gbob.com, myspace, facebook • Lots of other personal websites, photo galleries and facebook albums containing photos from GBOB China events held in 2009. Photos were also distributed to the bands participating for their own promotional purposes • Videos of all the bands entering have been filmed and uploaded to youtube and youku and the view counts range from hundreds to thousands. Videos include footage of Dragonair banners placed in venues. • Press releases through Business Wire reached into many websites both inside and outside of China – click here for full report of China Final • Advertisements promoting GBOB China was placed in the following publications: Time Out in Beijing and Time Out Shanghai, re:spect and BC magazine (full page ads) in Hong Kong. • Total number of promotional flyers produced – 25,000 pcs. • 87 bands signed up in total in China. • Audience attendance ranged from 200 to 400 people per event, with an estimate of 5000 people in total attendance. • DVD footage of Dragonair logo aired at 3 events where TV sets or large screens were usable. • A documentary of the China winning band is being made by Niurenku and will be aired in 2010. • Overall the competition was seen as a huge success in China and we expect the number of bands participating in 2010 to reach 250 bands, with audience size of 15000.
