Reporting System Progressive Grading: • (I)GCSE grades reflect current attainment compared with overall programme grading criteria at the culmination: • It is expected that initial grades will be lower than the final outcome and will increase through each two-year course as the student progresses toward the culmination of their studies. Projected Grades: In an effort to more accurately portray our student’s achievements on their academic records, Projected Grades are used to report Term Grades for students in the International Baccalaureate programme. These grades are designed to demonstrate the students’ expected level of achievement on the final exam in relation to their achievement at that point in the course. • There is no weighting of grades or calculation of Grade Point Average • It is the policy of the school not to rank students • In cases where universities require or request, Bangkok Patana School reports all changes to student enrolment status as a result of a serious disciplinary incident. Policies and Procedures of Note: • Bangkok Patana School students sign and submit an application integrity agreement before university applications are processed. This agreement ensures understanding of the Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission outlined by the National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC) • Bangkok Patana School students are limited to 10 well-considered applications to university. UCAS, OUAC, University of California, Studielink and Australian State Application systems each count as one. • Bangkok Patana School policy allows for a maximum of one counsellor recommendation and two teacher recommendations unless otherwise required by a university. COVID-19 Pandemic • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bangkok Patana School was closed by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Thailand from 11th January until 1st February 2021, 19th April until 25th June 2021 and 18th August until 27th October 2021. Instruction was carried on through virtual platforms and students continued to receive personal and academic support from teachers, mimicking a normal day’s timetable. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, the 2023 graduating cohort of students were unable to take their (I)GCSE exams. Please see this link for more information about the 2021 (I)GCSE exam cycle here.
Our mission is to ensure that students of different nationalities grow to their full potential as independent learners in a caring British international community.
