This brand style guide provides you with an outline of the visual elements that make up the Bambino Mio brand identity. This guide is only an extract, containing all relevant information for our distributors, a full and complete guide is available from Bambino Mio. Before producing your own material we strongly advise that you read this guide carefully. It may be that the piece of communication you are preparing to design already exists in the archive in a similar format within this guide. Otherwise please contact the international team who will be able to assist you.

* The Bambino Mio brand mark is represented by a square symbol containing the words ‘bambino’ and ‘mio’ as well as an ‘®’ mark. The mark can be used in two different colour variations as shown below. The colour variant used is dependent on the background colour to which the mark is being applied, or if a black only print process is being utilised, as shown below. In all printed matter the brand logo and brand mark must be accompanied by ® the registered trademark symbol. *Please note: The brand mark should always be the default logo used on any artwork, only when the layout demands it should the logo type be used as an alternative. In addition to the brand mark, during 2012 we are celebrating our 15th anniversary and have an additional brand mark available with 15 years in the top left corner of the brand mark. This logo is only to be used on artwork during 2012, please consider this before printing any literature.

The brand logo type is made up by merging the words ‘bambino’ and ‘mio’. The two words are distinguished by a slight alteration to the colouring in either word. The logo type can be used in three different colour variations as shown below. The colour variant used is dependent on the background colour to which the logo is being applied, or if a black only print process is being utilised. The brand mark and brand logo is of prime importance in Bambino Mio’s corporate identity. As a constant element, it symbolises the brand and stands for the quality of its products and services. Visually, the Bambino Mio brand is represented by two items; the brand mark and the brand logo type. To ensure a brilliant and distinguished appearance both the logo type and the mark should always be used in a high resolution format (minimum 300dpi in print and 72dpi on screen).

Both the brand mark and brand logo Type have a particularly powerful effect when they stand alone on a calm background and are not crowded by other design elements. This is why the space shown should always be kept clear around the brand logo type and brand mark whenever possible (except in cases where either the strapline or website are included). The size of the brand mark and brand logo type depends on where it is being used. For full details please refer to the relevant sections of this guide. The brand mark and brand logo type should never measure less than 10mm in height & if using the 15 years logo it must not measure less the 20mm due to readability. The brand mark and brand logo type should preferably be used against a white background. However, depending on the application, it can be placed on a coloured background. The brand logo type may often be required to reproduce over photography or other images. If you need to apply the brand logo over an image you must ensure the following three things: 1. The background colour is light enough for the logo to be clearly read. 2. The area of the image is clear and flat enough for the logo to be clearly read. 3. The text is not cropped. You may prefer to use the corner effect image in a white box behind the logo using the relevant spacing as below, along with a dashed line in purple.

The primary typeface (or font) which has been chosen for use on Bambino Mio corporate documentation and publications is Helvetica. This font has the right mix of legibility, character and timelessness to sit together well with the Brand Logos. The principal weights to use are Light, Roman and Medium, please note, the Italics of these weights are unacceptable. This typeface should be used for all Bambino Mio corporate materials and the variation of weights should be enough to service all body copy, sub-titling and captioning requirements. Where Helvetica is not available for body text (international characters in text): Arial should be used The brand name Bambino Mio should always be written with a capital B and M in all circumstances apart from the brand mark and logo type which should remain as stated in this guide. When referring to our product brand names for example miosoft this should always remain in lowercase and all titles should start with lowercase unless it is Bambino Mio. The use of black for body text in external artwork is unacceptable, as this is too harsh against the Pantone 272C colour. A 70% tint of black should be used. Any written correspondence should be in 100% black.

All headings should be written in Modern No. 20 with no fill and an outline of 1 – 2 pt depending on size of the font. The font is then styled using illustrator’s scribble effect; a sample copy is available to download from www.bambinomio.com/brand-style-guide Where Modern No. 20 is not available for headings (international characters in headding): Times New Roman should be used The brand name Bambino Mio should always be written with a capital B and M in all circumstances apart from the brand mark and logo type which should remain as stated in this guide. When referring to our product brand names for example miosoft this should always remain in lowercase and all titles should start with lowercase unless it is Bambino Mio. Pantone 272C 100% tint is primarily the colour for all headings except if the document /page is promoting miosolo. In this case pantone 158 is to be used at 100& tint .

When using quotes in artwork French script MT is to be used in pantone 272C 100% tint, even if in a miosolo document as the quotes are referring to the Brand as well as the miosolo product. Quotes should also be displayed with exaggerated speech marks in using the Modern No. 20 font and style, please see below. Where French Script MT is not available for quotes (international characters in headding): Edwardian Script ITC should be used The brand name Bambino Mio should always be written with a capital B and M in all circumstances apart from the brand mark and logo type which should remain as stated in this guide. When referring to our product brand names for example miosoft this should always remain in lowercase and all titles should start with lowercase unless it is Bambino Mio.

The principal colour for the Bambino Mio brand is lilac, with the chosen spot colour of Pantone 272c and a 50% tint of Pantone 272c. The Bambino Mio neutral colour is white and is very useful as a secondary colour and complements the lilac well. This can be used in applications such as graphic panels on corporate print work, straplines and other secondary copy. The Bambino Mio lilac should always be used when promoting the company as a whole and for all products except the miosolo which adopts the burnt orange Pantone 158c or the 50% tint. References are given here for both Pantone and Process colour mixes. Please note that Process colours are only ever an approximate match to special Pantone colours and they are unlikely to match perfectly. The colours will also be affected by different paper types and surfaces. In all cases, including RGB colours, Web Safe colours (HEX) and paint mixes, matches should always be made back to the Pantone coated original references Pantone 272c

Bambino Mio have received a large number of awards from magazines and trade related organisations. Due to this large number we have had to create a standard selection of awards to be placed on graphic artwork and external publications. Please note: the awards below can only be used in certain cases. They may only be used where the brand in general is mentioned, anything related to or including our mionappies or miosoft covers, and not any other products.

To backup our commitment to the environment, we have decided to use appropriate recycling symbols where relevant. Therefore we have a standard symbol which should be included on all printed materials, that are both recyclable and has been awarded to the printer used (i.e. leaflets, brochures etc). We have chosen the ‘Mobius loop’ symbol, as it is internationally recognised as a symbol for recycling. There is a Pantone 272c and 70% black tint version available. The words, “please recycle this item”, may appear alongside, above or below, the logo. An example of which is shown below. The recycle symbol should be positioned on the back of the packaging clearly and unobstructed.

Facebook, Twitter & YouTube logos should be on all printed & digital artwork, with the exceptions of web banners. There are two primary ways to apply these logos to artwork: 1. QR codes can be set up to direct consumers any page on the Bambino Mio website and can be added to artwork to help push a call to action. QR codes are primarily used on promotional items & packaging. QR codes can also be placed in brand colours to reinforce the brand, Pantone colours must not be in tints due to legibility when scanning with a smart phone.
