Realise Your Dreams…

Welcome to our 2020 Air & Cruise Programme which has been prepared by CITO – The Consortium of Independent Tour Operators of which we are a member.

We trust our latest collection of holidays will inspire you to book and experience new and exciting destinations. We have repeated many of your favourite destinations such as Malta, Madeira, Crete & Corfu and our extensive Italian product. We have introduced new exciting holidays to The Venetian Riviera and also to Valencia & The Levante Region of Spain and following the popularity of our Cyprus Winter Warmer, we have added a further early holiday to Southern Spain.

New holidays with Croisi Europe include the Loire Valley onboard a premium, two deck paddle ship and a flying holiday to the Rhine & Moselle. We have repeated firm favourites such as Paris and our enchanting cruise of the Douro Valley.

More and more of our customers are choosing to cruise from the UK with Fred. Olsen, enjoying their smaller vessels which allow you to get closer to an exciting variety of resorts. New for 2020 we will cruise to Sweden on board Boudicca for 12 days. We have also included a leisurely cruise down the length of France to Santander on Spain’s northern coast. Also available is a short break to Holland & Belgium, plus two Norway cruises, our regular Christmas & New Year cruise plus a fabulous Christmas Market cruise covering four countries. We would like to thank you for choosing us as your preferred holiday provider and look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

We include all the following in your holiday price: 䊳

Door to Door Service

Flights

We will collect you from home at the beginning of the holiday and return you home afterwards. Please note that some departures may involve an early start from home. (Please check for details of this service). On all flights we include the cost of an allocated seat and one item of hold luggage no less than 20kg per person. For popular destinations in Europe, we aim to offer flights from a London airport and also a northern airport, usually Manchester. These do tend to be early morning departures, but will mean you can start your holiday sooner by arriving earlier at the resort. The flights we use need to fit in around the arrival time at resort, ship boarding and disembarking times. Not all airline schedules have been released at the time of preparing this brochure and availability on some routes may mean we can only offer flights from and to a London airport. Your Door to Door service will still be available, regardless of where you fly from or the time of departure or return.

Accommodation

We use hotels that are at least to the UK standard of a 3* and are often higher. The hotels are checked by a member of CITO staff or agents acting on our behalf.

Meals

All holidays include breakfast every day and dinners. On Croisi Europe River Cruises (except Paris) and Fred.Olsen Cruises breakfast, lunch and dinner is included, plus the addition of a drinks package. On other European holidays, some are on an All Inclusive basis or have a drinks package with dinner or lunches have been included during some full day excursions.

Itinerary

Excursions

The brochure showcases the highlights of each holiday. A more detailed itinerary of all our departures is available on request and the final itinerary will be confirmed when you receive our detailed pre-departure information pack. With the exception of Fred.Olsen Cruises, all excursions as detailed on individual itineraries are included together with admission to attractions, boat trips and rail tickets. Excursions will be a mix of on board coach sightseeing and walking tours. Many historical locations have limited vehicle access to their historic centres which may necessitate additional walking to fully experience a visit. As a guideline we have graded each holiday as Easy, Medium or Hard in relation to the number of excursions requiring walking, sometimes on cobbles or in hilly towns & cities, plus the need to board trains or boats. We recommend checking each holiday itinerary for suitability for those with mobility issues and check this before booking. You can always chose to not participate on an excursion on the day and remain at the hotel, ship or resort should you wish. Please note all excursions and holiday itineraries are subject to change due to operational reasons.

Tour Manager

All of our holidays (except Fred.Olsen Cruises and Paris) are escorted by an experienced Tour Manager who will be with you throughout your holiday. They will travel with you from the UK or join you at your destination airport. Someone will always be available to greet and assist you at the airports. Springtime in the heart of Paris is escorted by a professional UK coach driver.

Financial Protection The holiday packages inclusive of flights offered within this brochure are protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. The ATOL licence number is 6218. We have appropriate financial protection in place to fully safeguard your money. Full details are available on request. When you buy an ATOL protected package holiday you will receive an ATOL certificate. This lists the details of the services that are financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. You must take this certificate with you when you travel.

• Santander. Located between Gijon and Bilbao on

• La Coruña in the Galicia region of northwest Spain

Spain’s north coast, Santander is an elegant city with impressive buildings set against a natural backdrop of sea and mountains. The Paseo de Pereda promenade runs alongside the Pereda Gardens and the pretty houses with their miradors, or balconies, are a favourite feature of this lively boulevard. The beaches in Santander are protected from the wind by the bay, resulting in wonderful, calm waters. Visitors can also discover the region's prehistoric caves, situated a few miles from the city, which contain some of the most important cave paintings of Quaternary art. • Aviles in the north-western province of Asturias, is steeped in history and architectural gems just waiting to be discovered. A former maritime and farming town, the scenic city of Aviles is now one of the country’s most important industrial centres. The city centre remains stylish and easy to navigate, with plenty of pretty cafes and a number of museums and galleries to visit, while the Old Town quarter is Aviles’ finest feature. Largely pedestrianised, it consists of several historic squares and plazas, interlinked by a series of pretty boulevards from centuries past.

boasts an impressive seafront promenade, beautiful beaches and a host of attractions such as the Domus Museum, the Casa del Hombre and Torre De Hercules. Said to be the only Roman lighthouse in existence it offers sweeping coastal views from the top of its 60 metre high tower. The Paseo Marítimo, or sea-promenade, is a lovely 13km walkway and bike path, running from the port, around the peninsula and along the ocean beaches. La Coruña’s old quarter is a must-visit medieval centre containing remains of the Roman wall that once protected it. The arcaded Plaza de María Pita, surrounded by narrow pedestrianized lanes, is a popular spot and features the statue of María Pita, a 16th century woman who warned the town of an invasion by Sir Francis Drake. • 2 days at sea. Optional excursions booked and paid for in resort do not form part of your booking. Admission fees to buildings may not be included in the price of the holiday, please check. 11. HEALTH AND SAFETY In some foreign countries, standards of infrastructure, safety and hygiene may be lower than those to which we are accustomed in the UK. You should therefore exercise greater care for your own protection. There may be countries that we visit that have special medical requirements for tourists. These regulations are subject to change and our clients are responsible for complying with entry and current health requirements. If you are not sure of the health requirements for the country you are visiting, you are advised to check with your own GP before travelling. You are also advised to refer to the Department of Health leaflet, “Health Advice for Travellers”, which can be found at your local GP’s Practice. Some people may be at risk from discomfort or deep vein thrombosis (DVT) if they remain immobile on a journey for a long period. If you are planning to undertake a journey of more than three hours, you should consult your doctor, if you have ever had DVT, pulmonary embolism, a family history of clotting conditions, cancer or treatment for cancer, stroke, and heart or lung disease or If you have had major surgery in the past three months. We reserve the right to refuse any booking in the absence of a doctor’s certificate confirming that you are fit to travel. Where we provide comfort stops you are encouraged to walk around. Exercise reduces any discomfort, which may be caused by periods of immobility. Smoking is not allowed on our coaches (including E-Cigarettes) and we do not allow pets or any other animals. 12. SPECIAL REQUESTS All special needs and requests, if agreed, should be entered on the booking form and be included in the confirmation of the holiday. These cannot be guaranteed except where confirmed as part of our holiday commitment to you and are detailed on your holiday booking confirmation. We are keen to ensure that we plan the arrangements for your holiday so that special needs and requests can be accommodated as far as possible. If you will need assistance, or may be unable to fully enjoy all aspects of your holiday you must tell us in advance so that we can maximise your enjoyment of the holiday. We will need to know if you will need special facilities in the hotel, taking part in the excursions or have difficulty boarding and travelling on the coach or other means of transport. Before booking your holiday, you should be sure that you and your party are both physically and mentally capable of completing the itinerary. If you need advice or further information either you or your booking agent should contact our Tours Manager. If you require a special diet please tell us at the time of booking, or as soon as you are medically advised, together with a copy of the diet. 13. PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES We want everyone to enjoy our travel arrangements. We are

happy to advise and assist you in choosing a suitable holiday. But, as some of the accommodation and resorts featured may not cater for even the simplest facilities, it is important that, when booking, you advise us of any disability, specific need or complex need you may have and any special requirements that will make sure the holiday is suitable. If a passenger requires personal assistance (for example, assistance with feeding, dressing, toileting, mobilising) then this passenger must travel with an ablebodied companion or carer and written confirmation that such assistance will be provided for the entirety of the holiday is required at the time of booking. Important You must tell us if you have an existing medical condition, disability or complex need that may affect your holiday or other group members’ enjoyment of it, before you book your holiday. We reserve the right to request a doctor’s certificate confirming the passenger is fit to travel. If, in our reasonable opinion, your chosen holiday is not suitable for your medical condition or disability, we reserve the right to refuse your booking. You are responsible for bringing with you the proper clothing and equipment, which we advise you about in our pre-travel information. We want you to enjoy your holiday and will help you select an appropriate trip. 14. PASSENGER BEHAVIOUR We want all our customers to have a happy and carefree holiday. The coach driver/representative, ship's captain, or authorised official is entitled to refuse you boarding if in their reasonable opinion, you are unacceptably under the influence of drink or drugs or you are being violent or disruptive. If you are refused boarding on the outward journey we will regard it as a cancellation by you and we will apply cancellation charges. If you are refused boarding on your return journey, we have the right to terminate the contract with you. We request that mobile telephones are not used on the coach. 15.
