Row Park

Newport, Kentucky Civic

Row Park projects takes on a large scale redevelopment of a current underutilized riverside park that hosts the Cincinnati rowing team. Taking on an almost literal approach to the interaction between rowing paddles and the water, the building form hosts a brutalist approach representing the rotation of row paddles through large concrete slots. The current conditions hosts a multitude of erosion problems and a landscape that is disconnected to the riverside. The design aims to create a space the row team can occupy while connecting the public to the river and landscape.

The project prompt was to rewrite athenaeum, a scholarly members club commonly found in large cities. Through the study of different roof typologies, we were asked to create a built space to host 24/7 activities in relation to the concept of athenaeum. Schematic Design Design Develop Construction Set

Lasik Plus contracted BHDP to design a renovation layout for a new store in Boise, Idaho. I was given the opportunity to design the schematic layout, develop the design and eventually permit for construction.
