Welcome to Business in Oxford 2018 (BIO2018). This is the 5th year that Oxfordshire’s largest business networking and showcase event has taken place and we are delighted to return to The King’s Centre. BIO2018 is powered by B4, Oxfordshire’s leading business magazine and network and the timing is perfect to launch our ‘Oxfordshire & Oxford - World Class & Connected’ initiative which we will be presenting in the open session. We see our role at B4, through our various platforms, as a connector of Oxfordshire businesses and BIO is a great example of how we bring you all together. We can do so much more by collaborating and working with each other. All of us face challenges in our businesses, many of which are common to us all, so working together to find solutions has to be the way forward and B4 can help connect even more Oxfordshire businesses. So why not join us?

BIO2018 is a platform for innovation and business growth and if you missed out on speaking or exhibiting, please get in touch to talk to us about our plans for BIO2019. There are so many people to thank including all of our partners, you as delegates and the team back in the office who have worked their very best to ensure today’s event is as enjoyable as possible. Please do stay for a drink after the final speaker to join us in a collective thank you to Bob Price, the outgoing Leader of Oxford City Council, not to mention our Lip Sync in aid of Sobell House. Enjoy your day and be inspired. Richard Rosser Founder, Business in Oxford

THE BUSINESS IN OXFORD TEAM
+ LAUNCHING TODAY
Oxford & Oxfordshire
World Class & Connected Brought to you by
As Oxfordshire’s leading business networking community, B4 aims to play a key role in Oxfordshire’s future growth. We’re working towards building B4 as the platform for business to business communications and profile raising in Oxfordshire and by co-ordinating through B4, we not only believe that Oxfordshire has a bright future, but that we can show the rest of the world that businesses in Oxfordshire are united in their vision to be ‘World Class & Connected’. Today we will be airing “Oxford & Oxfordshire – World Class & Connected”, a promotional video supported by an online report designed to get our message across ‘support B4 and Oxfordshire’s growth’. We want to demonstrate not only the diversity of organisations committed to B4 but also the extent of their commitment and how this joined up approach to doing business in our county is helping to drive growth for the future. The B4 community is growing and below we include some messages of support for our initiative to get Oxfordshire’s business community connected. Would you like to be involved? If you would like to receive a copy of our report or join the B4 community, please call the team on 01865 742211 and we will be pleased to send you a link to the report and / or discuss B4 with you (please note link not available until 28th May). “We recognise the benefits of a collaborative approach to boost investor confidence and to develop an infrastructure that will drive further growth. Therefore Owen Mumford supports B4’s ‘World Class & Connected’ initiative which will benefit businesses of all sizes across the county.” Jarl Severn, Managing Director, Owen Mumford “B4 is a visionary driver of the essential connectivity that makes Oxfordshire a highly successful and enjoyable community of business leaders and professionals who can act locally and think globally. Oxford University backs the World Class & Connected initiative” Matthew Smart, University of Oxford

Wonky Food Co.
The Wonky Food Company was started in 2017 to tackle the problem of food waste. In the UK alone, 40% of perfectly edible fruit and vegetables grown on our farms never even makes it to our plates. Instead of throwing them away, we take imperfect and surplus fruit and veg and turn them into delicious products. We’re launching with a range of relishes in the spring, with many new products to follow. We are very grateful to have the support of B4 and BIO2018 as we embark on our exciting journey.
Natural Bread is an independent Oxford based artisan bakery. We make all our own wonderful breads, pastries & cakes by hand, from scratch, and fresh every day in our Botley bakery without using any additives. At BIO2018 we will be providing a selection of mini pastries including pain au chocolats, pan aux raisins and pau au beaurre sales. Complimentary coffee vouchers will also be available which can be redeemed at one of our Natural Bread cafes in either Little Clarendon Street or Woodstock.
Our philosophy is to produce the highest quality wines from grapes cultivated in as environmentally friendly way as possible. The local micro-climate, warm sandy soils, long ripening season and mature vines produce wines of consistent depth and quality which have won many awards. We will be providing a taste of our crisp and fruity white wine, The Doctor’s Bacchus. This wine is well balanced with flavours of elderflower, blackcurrent leaves, grass, gooseberry and a white pepper finish.
Emma’s Ewesful Acres
Emma’s Ewesful Acres is a local Oxfordshire farm enterprise which produces quality wild flower meadow lamb, hogget, mutton and beef to the local community and businesses. Emma will be providing mini slow cooked hogget (lamb over 1 years old) rolls at this year’s event.

We supply over 30 cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, museums, galleries & pop ups across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire & London. We make & bake beautiful fresh handmade & hand finished cakes. We never freeze anything, all our pastry is from scratch. We use the best ingredients we can find, including wonderful small producers like London Borough of Jam, Pip & Nut (peanut butter). We use real butter, fresh veggies & tons of fresh fruits. All our cakes are as natural & organic as if you made them yourself.
British Honey Company
The British Honey Company was launched in 2013 in the Cotswolds, in the beautiful village of Yarnton, Oxfordshire. Since then we have expanded across Great Britain. Each one of the hives works endlessly to pollenate British meadows and hedgerows. Providing you with our scrumptious 100% raw honey. Our honeys include Cotswold, Apple Blossom, Heather and Borage to name but a few. With a love for Gin and Honey, our beekeeper produced the delicious Keepr’s Dry London Gin infused with our Cotswold Honey in small batches from 300-500 bottles. Each batch is traceable back to the hive.
