Pierre Gagnaire Vs Daria Tsivina (1) Visiting Moscow, the famous French Chef and restaurateur Pierre Gagnaire chose to taste Russian cuisine at Russkaya Okhota restaurant. The master highly praised all the dishes he ordered and even wrote down the recipe of the famous Russian beverage kvass. Interestingly, a few weeks before his visit, Russkaya Okhota got a very negative review from the restaurant critic Daria Tsivina who claimed Michelin Guide ex-

perts would not come to Russia till there remain such places. Meanwhile, Pierre Gagnaire owns a few 3 star Michelin restaurants restaurants and he is definitely more competent in gastronomy than Ms Tsivina.

‘Tower’ for Gourmands (2) Among this summer’s new offerings at Sanremo restaurant, there is a very intriguing appetizer — carpaccio of sweet tomatoes layered with eggplant paste, avocado salad and rolls of bell pepper marinated with balsamic, honey and herbs. You’d be impressed by the combination of tastes and the elegant look of the dish.

Perfumers’ Rivals (3) Artiom Emelshin, bar chef of O2 Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, unveiled cocktails which have good chances to become most popular in his bar, — Flower Valley, Mesmerized and Fifth Avenue. “I believe that with these three cocktails, we managed to reach utmost heights of the barman’s trade”, — Mr Emelshin says. — “This is achieved thanks to our original syrups and foams of lavender, lemongrass and cardamom. As a result, by the refinement of tastes and smells we are quite close to perfumery”.

Italian Summer (4) Alessandro Schiffini, chef of Colonna restaurant, invites guests to taste some ‘Italian summer’ in his light and healthy delicacies based on Italian salads, seasonal fruit and berries. Among his new offerings are Amore salad (Parma ham, melon, mozzarella, sweet cherry, and honey sauce), salad with grilled octopus and red and yellow pepper sauce, cold Burrata cr me soup with cherry tomatoes and many other delicacies.

Summer in the Garden (5) Giardino Bello restaurant’s garden now accommodates a new VIP pavilion with soft couches, armchairs, TV and audio system. There are also some new items in the menu, including smokecured Mediterranean fish (seabass, dorado, flatfish) cooked on alder wood chips in the restaurant’s own smoking shed. Giardino Bello also offers original lemonades including Tarragon & Mint, Ruccola, Cherry and Mix of orange, lemon, apple and cucumber.

Along with the menu, Kranzler cafe (Baltschug Kempinski Moscow hotel) has also revised its cocktail list, emphasizing light cold drinks offering exhilarating and “strong” freshness. New offerings include non-alcoholic “Breeze” (cranberry, lime, frappe ice, sprite and mint), “Orange Fresh” (mix of orange and lemon juice with Ginger Ale, Grenadine and soda), “Blue Hawaii” (rum, Blue Curacao liqueur, and pineapple juice and coconut syrup) and “Pierino” (brandy, Cointreau, lime and grapefruit juice, Bitter lemon).

Tasty Romantics (7) Panorama restaurant on the second floor of the Golden Ring hotel invites you to make a romantic dinner for your loved one and order a “plate for two”. The offering includes two variants: oven baked half duck with wine pear and paradise apples served with cranberry and honey sauce, or baked starlet with potatoes, mushrooms and creamy caviar sauce.
