vuosina alhaisen maidon hinnan ja korkeiden kustannusten seurauksena on pyritty ruokinnan taloudellisuuteen. Tällä hetkellä 70 lehmän keskituotos on noin 10 500 kiloa. Uutta navettaa rakennettaessa päätettiin, että puolet karjasta olisi kanadalaista ayrshireä ja puolet holsteinia, koska Leif halusi uusia haasteita työskenneltyään koko elämänsä punaisten lehmien kanssa. Jalostustavoitteet molemmille roduille ovat samat: helppohoitoiset, lypsytyyppiset lehmät, joilla on sopivasti kokoa, erittäin hyvät utareet ja jalat. Mutta Leifin sydän sykkii kuitenkin hieman enemmän ayrshirelehmille. Näyttelytoiminta on ollut hänelle rakas harrastus koko ajan ja myös menestystä on tullut useamman Championin muodossa. Suurimpana saavutuksena Leif pitää 1135 Blomman Grand Champion -titteliä Elmia-näyttelyssä vuonna 2015.

Yves Charpentier Yves Charpentier on syntynyt vuonna 1966 ja kasvanut lypsykarjatilalla Drummondvillen seudulla, Quebecin provinssissa Kanadassa. Hänen isänsä Fernand oli suuri karjanäyttelyfani ja, Yvesin äidin, Yvetten, avustuksella, osallistui karjanäyttelyihin koko elämänsä ajan. Jo hyvin nuorena Yves ja veljensä Marc aloittivat myös karjanäyttelyharrastuksen. Yves aloitti sen 4-H-kerhossa ollessaan 8-vuotias. Aluksi hän esitti canadienne-rotuisia eläimiä, mutta kun kotitilalle alettiin ostaa ayrshire-eläimiä vuonna 1983, ryhtyi Yves esittämään niitä. Hän menestyikin showmanship-luokissa 1980-luvulla sekä paikallisella että alueellisella tasolla. Vuonna 1984 hän alkoi työskennellä kokoaikaisesti perheen lypsykarjatilalla. Yves Charpentier I was born in 1966, I was raised on a dairy farm in the Drummondville region in the province of Quebec in Canada. My father Fernand was a big fan of the shows, with the help of my mother Yvette he showed cattle in many shows all of his life. Very young my brother Marc and I started to be involved in showing as well. I started in the 4-H when I was 8 years of age. At the beginning, I was showing Canadienne cattle, but when we started buying Ayrshires at the farm in 1983, then I started showing Ayrshires. I had quite good results in the showmanship class in the 80’s at a local, regional and provincial level. In 1984, I started to work full time at the family farm. We had good successes in the show ring with our Canadienne and also with our Ayrshires cattle over the years, winning banners, junior championships and senior championships as well. I judged my first show in 1983 at the age of 16. Over the years, I judged close to 60 shows in my life including the most important ones, for the Ayrshire breed, I judged the Quebec Spring show in 2000, Charlottetown in 2002, Quebec Provincial show in 2002 and the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto in 2003, for the Canadienne breed, I judged the

I also judged in Colombia the National Ayrshire show in 2003 and in the 2004, I had the privilege to judge the OKRA show in Finland for Ayrshires and Holsteins. In 2003, I sold out my dairy farm and I started to be a color breeds classifier in Canada for 2 years and a half. In July 2005, I started to work for Ayrshire Canada as the National Fieldman. I am still working there since. After my judging in OKRA in 2004, I also started to classify herds in Finland and since that first visit, I am coming over to Finland every single year. I made already 32 trips in Finland and 31 of them were for the classification. Over all these years, I have been able to see and appreciate the extraordinary improvement of the Ayrshires in Finland. One thing I am especially really proud of is that my brother Marc and I have had the great honour of judging the Ayrshire show at the Royal Winter Fair, it has been pretty rare that two brothers judged at the Royal Winter Fair. I am also very proud that my brother was asked to judge in Finland in 2015. Since 2009, I live in St-Hyacinthe, Québec, same place as where the Ayrshire Canada office is located.
